Agreeable Menswear Post Of The Day

The antiqued/burnished toes are too contrived. Overall solid. subtle under pieces to accentuate the boldness of the suit. Extra points for the lack of tacky accessories.

Is that EFV?
What's the rule with pattern alignment (not matching, calm down) and lapels? I know when a double breasted lapel curves out, the line pattern reveals this. Here, the check pattern is clearly not parallel with the lapel edge. Good, bad, indifferent?
 
It is EFV.

As for the pattern matching? No one is going to notice. It is a lot less obvious than the navy chalkstripe a few posts above
 
Somewhat flawless.

I dislike the attempt of wearing quirky accessories but in actuality achieving the opposite effects.
 
The bloke in the fawn jacket looks ok but he should pull those flaps out of the pockets.

The blue suit bloke illustrates how those trousers that look acceptably au courant in a static photo posed for wearing online but will look silly in real life. Look in the mirror the trousers are all funny at the back, despite hanging no break and with giant 2" cuffs weighting them down. They are way above his ankle even in the static online pose - as soon as he moves they will just look like ill-fitting too short trousers swinging in the breeze.

Kids don't mimic what you see online without thinking first.

Those trousers are way too tight to allow any swinging, inside or outside. They are pleated, yet have no ease in the upper leg.
I doubt he could sit down in these trousers.

+1! I also don't understand the fascination for 3 roll 2 lapels. Always looks like the tailor did the collar too short and just managed to sell it as something "special".

This reinforces my confusion concerning your methodology for selecting what you post the "Disagreeable" thread and what you post in the "Agreeable" thread.

You can be incredibly nit-picky and quibble over minor details about a lot of the outfits that you post pictures of in the "Disagreeable" thread and yet you then go and post this photo in the "Agreeable" thread.

It's very easy to see that the stripes are curiously mis-matched on this suit. On the right shoulder (which is to the left of the photo), the stripes are quite well matched at the sleevehead. However, over on the left shoulder (to the right of the photo), the stripes are very poorly matched, so each shoulder is different.

Conversely, the right lapel (to the left of the photo) has quite poor pattern-matching at the gorge, where the lapel meets the collar, whereas the left lapel (to the right of the photo) has quite good (although not perfect) pattern matching. So, each side of the suit has one part at matches and one part that doesn't match, but neither side matches the other.

I'm unsure as to whether this is a deliberate attempt at sprezzatura, or whether his tailor was just having a very bad day.

The overall effect is still quite agreeable, at least to me.

Decent rise on the pentz, presence of socks, absence of tacky details like 7 ties and lapel chains, shoes favoured over Belgian pimp moccasins, etc etc.

The man has the right idea.

I like this compared to a lot of what he wears. It makes me long for the seas and being confined below decks
