The white tie cosplay dwarf with the Ant Hill Mob hats also seems to like posting pics of himself adorned with random chicks - do these people have any idea of the concept of ‘overcompensating’?

You really have an issue with Roycru, don't you? I wager, it's beyond forum interaction, it's personal?

You've met him real life and he really bugs ya'!

No I just find him and his pics and ‘banter’ disagreeable. As long as people keep posting him here in the ‘Agreeable’ thread I’m going to disagree!

None of the above can be called 'English country style' the third maybe, the first one is University Teacher look, and the 2 and 4 Hackett models, in any case rdiaz never dressed that way in SF.

The 3rd and 4th are in Cordings.

English country style isn't just landed gentry hanging around in their stately pads in Viyella and tweeds as they can no longer afford to keep the place heated. You also have the farmer off to the cattle market look and lots of looks inbetween. Whilst the aristos sport it rather well, too much country in the UK stands out like a sore thumb and has to be handled well with a panache and nonchalance.

But I did have a 3-piece tweed suit. Those were the iGent days. I think I wore it as a full suit once in my life.

I don't have any pics of it as a 3 piece, only as a 2 piece. I have the waistcoat at home to prove the third piece exists.

kodus to you good sir

elbow patches
patch pockets on suit
you ticked all the mtm boxes
shame you forgot constrating slot stiching

Fun fact: I didn't ask for elbow patches. Ripped them shortly after. Patch pockets were added because this was ordered as an odd jacket. Then when it came I asked for trousers and waistcoat. Ended up using it as an odd jacket more often anyways.

That doesn't sound like that much fun.

I've only ever seen one chap carry off elbow patches:

Unless you're Dirty Harry in the early 1970s, best to leave them for the geography teachers.

Elbow patches are fine, on a old, well-worn, and loved battered jacket, where it is obvious, that they are a repair. It's on new stuff where they can seem, a bit off.

A bit like overly antiqued shoes, and distressed denim which as other problems too, like looking crap.

I actually hate them. Would only have them on a jacket if there was an actual hole in the elbow requiring a patch. I don't know why on Earth the MTM program I used at the time would put them on by default on a tweed coat. Something similar happened on a seersucker jacket I ordered, it was made unstructured and I didn't ask for it.

A lot of my old RTW came with patches as well. It was en vogue a few years ago, or so it seems, as new stuff from the same maker doesn't have them.

If you can carry off that hairdo, you can carry off practically everything.

It also helps that he packing a Smith & Wesson Magnum 44...the most powerful handgun in the world....and can blow your head clean off..

Well, do ya feel lucky punk...?

...well do ya...?

Or a schoolboy. I got very good mileage out of the oversized school blazer that I grew into. Leather cuff patches were also very useful for frayed cuffs.

I had leather knee patches on my tracksuit. Never liked the damn things, but then we were dirt poor, and had to make do.
