Agreeable Menswear Post Of The Day

Need a few more votes to put tchoy over the edge.

My two sox were sacrificed in the passaggio disaster. Hopefully there are a few more dw members with a working sf account. Sartodinapoli ? robertito robertito ?

Btw Grand Potentate Grand Potentate did you see the comments made by EFV and Betelgeuse Betelgeuse in the challenge thread? I assume you will have a word with them? No need for Stitchy hate, but praising and cheering the guy.... Well, that's just not cool.

Hahaha! But how could we know. It is a nice combo in my opinion. :sadwhy:

Guys, I ran out of Dutch friends with an sf account. Just a few more votes for tchoy to take the lead!!!

Don't misunderstood me, I meant, the color combination is one I would use if I had the color pallete. :okay:

Don't you think it's just bland? Brown suit, brown striped shirt, brown tie. Maybe be nice items seperately. But the combo is nothing special. Not much to like there as a whole. And his shoes always seem to be those ugly long narrow pointy brogues.

Nice post there Betelgeuse Betelgeuse !

I just voted but he is still 2 up 37/39 .

I just looked through the challenge pics and I gotta say that EFV is killer. I'm not even a brown jacket fan but that looks fantastic. I think the "Yeah, I could fuck your wife" look on his face is what really sells it.

For the classicist, Tchoy is fucking sharp as well.

Tchoy is always sharp. I've never seen him post anything that I dislike. He's old and perhaps conservative enough in his sense of taste, not to experiment. He was the sharpest dresser in the line up IMHO.

I like Stitchy's suit though, but it really needs a light blue, or white and blue shirt. A green tie would really elevate it.

You forgot to add snitchys strongest characteristic:: brown nosing!

I don't know about the quality of that leather, but assuming it is good and it's the filter making it look all wonky, I think Stitchy's fit is agreeable.

Yes, that is his Barbour International with the USA flag lining

Dislike the lining, but who's going to see it anyway? So I vote for agreeable. Colors are great. Though I'm a sucker for anything with lots of browns and blues.

looks like a different jacket 'cause here is the lining of the other one

Moderators - time to ban people.

Theres nothing agreeable about any photo with instant itches in it.

Laughin' Lenny has always looked good. One of the few who can actually wear a hat unselfconsciously. A lost art these days.

I really don't understand why folks struggle to detach an outfit from the wearer. Unless they enjoy that attachment. In which case, different strokes

Leonard Cohen is my man. His first three albums, particularly Songs of Leonard Cohen, are brilliant. Shame he's beyond pretentious.

Also don't think I can condone wearing a DB suit sans tie.

I'm not a fan of how those Barbours are being worn, too neat and studied and I just don't believe it, dunno if that makes sense. If you took the coat off he'd just be any other schlub off the street I guess is what I'm saying.

I'm not a stitchy hater, because I don't know the guy from a bar of soap but I think it takes a certain attitude to wear those coats which were really made for hunting and fishing originally and now there are much better alternatives for those activities (I'm a fly fisher and goretex addict).

I do think that this happens a lot on different fora, but in different ways.

Here on DW, for example, InStitches will come in for criticism by certain people no matter what he wears. He could knock it out of the park but I suspect that there would still be a few people here who would nitpick over some detail simply because he is InStitches.

Conversely, over at SF, there are certain members who could wear something very mediocre indeed and - particularly if they were wearing "forum-approved" brands - they'd still get thumbs-up and compliments, simply because of who they are.

Agreed - I think that they look much better with a pair of sturdy trousers and a pair of outdoor boots or wellies:

since this is the "agreeable" thread i will say that i like the colours of IS's most recent Barbour fit. there, that wasn't so hard. fucking rights it was. but pleasing colour palette aside, you are right in stating that the jacket is better suited for more active pursuits than leaning up against his posing shack. i also think the shoes are not appropriate for the jacket or vice-versa if following this rationale. of all the Barbours one can choose from, he chooses the most trendy one of the moment. again, his choice but it goes to type as he continues his mechanical assimilation of styles. the one thing that always comes through to me - and this is separating out the man from the fit - he rarely exhibits any sense of life and the sullen, moody face he puts forward comes off as vacant to me. he ain't no James Dean and all one has to do is look at Leonard Cohen who can actually stare with authority. but he also smiles and shows a range of emotion and comes off looking natural. nothing natural about IS, and that is said without an ounce of malice

As Barbour coats go, I love mine. It's a perfect autumn jacket if you're living in Swedish climate, have dogs & like walking in the woods. I've got this one, which I mainly chose because it's got great pockets + a hood (i.e. very practical):

This is dead on. I thought he was just an expressionless autistic dope, but he may be trying to affect some despondent forlorn look and failing miserably. I'll try covering his head and seeing if I like the outfits better.

He looks uncomfortable.
He is de facto ugly - being ugly never helps looking good even if your suit is READY TO WEAR MADE TO BESPOKE STANDARDS.
I feel like he smells badly. Something I also do not really like.

how do you feel he smells badly? would you recommend borotalco?
