Agreeable Menswear Post Of The Day

Hi Donnie! Good to see you have a sense of humor after all. You're showing a little too much shirt sleeve there but I'll let it slide since you knocked over that pesky tree and all.
 
^ I like DC's outfit - good fit for someone who's heavier, with good colours and the classic, suede shoes are a nice touch.

I would, however, have chosen a pair of trousers that were darker in colour, for greater contrast with the jacket. Navy would have been ideal but I suppose that dark charcoal would also have worked.
 
Think I figured out the real problem with him. His rectangular glasses don't complement his face shape and only accentuates his pudgy cheeks.

I'm all for making fun of him because he's being an asshole, and even the bench thing is funny, but just continually calling the guy fat just for the sake of it is dumb. And, as a big fat fuck myself, I wouldn't like that very much if it were being done to me.

If you're going to be a dick at least do it with some style.
 
Along the rectangular theme, Don's boxy constructed shoulders also clash with his cheeks. Dude needs to try some soft Italian shoulders, like Formosa or Eidos even better.

yup. i'd prefer not-herringbone trousers with this fit but that's just me

Look fatty, I didn't call him fat. I was asking if Thruth Thruth photoshopped one of him sitting on the tree. To carry on the bench theme.
 
That's actually interesting. If one is in a permanent seated position, I guess you don't need much ease in the trousers, and why not have them hemmed to cover when seated? Similarly, tie the tie to lay properly when seated.

My dad used to wonder out loud if TV preachers should have suits made to fit while their hands were up in the air...
 
I dunno, I just don't think the guy looks good. And I'm not making a fat joke here. He just wears stuff that emphasizes his block frame. Even his haircut is not helping aesthetically.
 
i like look #2 better than #1. he would do better with different jacket/suit cuts. i like the cut of his orange pants (not the colour). the brown ones could be tapered more.

Don is a forum favourite because he is one of the few SF regulars who has interacted with DW. Of course this is in the form of temper tantrums and threats of lawsuits, but still, he pays attention to little ol' DW.
 
Given Don's strong fondness of plaid coats, I have no idea why he has striped and glen plaid shirts at all.
This red and orange thing has me wondering about partial color blindness.
That said, swap out the shirt on the second one for something solid without a cutaway collar and I'd like it.
 
The first plaid is problematic. The second one is ok. He'd do well with more subtlety. Dubious shirt/tie combos for jackets

I agree with this. Fat guys shouldn't wear loud suits. Things that scream "LOOK AT ME" aren't what you should be going for.

I'm not sure that it's just the loud angle, I think there can be loud and arresting suits that work ok on larger folk. What I see here is an insane amount of contrast, especially between top and bottom halves, paired with very square cuts. It just gives the effect of exaggerating his shape to look like a block.

And I honestly hope he reads this and doesn't think I'm just ragging on him, because I'm not.
