Christmas plans for 2021

We did the picnic, this year. The food was not great but it was a nice change from the routine.

The kids seem to have had a lot of fun and loved their presents.

I got some wine and beer but not the camera I half wanted. I’ve got a big retention bonus coming next month, so I might buy it for myself or a new tattoo.

I do miss home and my family on Christmas, but suck it up and show some glee to make sure the kids’ day is magical.

As always my narcissism makes me hurt after shooting my mouth off when two bottles of wine are finished.

Revised plans. Made it to my aunt after dropping off something for a coronavirus positive person. My brother is now doing a mid morning invitation to visit on Boxing day. No idea indoors or outdoors but he is a block away.

Given my uncle is the same age of Jack Nicholson, against the advice of his own kids I will be making a four course piedmontese style dinner on Tuesday.

I’ve been toying with the idea of putting a good point and shoot camera, to do a better job over the phone-camera. I’m still on the fence though - I’m just not sure I’d use or or if it would get put away next to the DSLR to gather dust.

I went to Texas. Just me and my younger brothers. Each of us made something for Christmas dinner (which we've never done before or had our parents do for the family). Turned out to be the best Christmas meal ever. It probably helped that our parents weren't around. Also, some nice beers and chocolates I brought from New York.

I also replaced my iPhone battery a day or two before. That was a pretty good Christmas gift to myself.

Unfortunately, the art of photography sadly died with slide and B&W film. A niche now for fine art photographers.

Your phone is going to deliver everything you need and interface friendly.

I wouldn't waste any money on a digital capturing device posing as a camera. Your mobile phone gives you that.

Don't be. I'm here to be with my brothers who I haven't seen together in a number of years. And we're in a house with a living room the size of a NY apartment. That said, there's a reason I don't live here but it's feeling quite nice for a holiday trip.
