Anyone here use a moka pot?
I have everything - belt & braces - accumulated over the years - in case of emergencies - - the "new" Breville with inbuilt coffee burr grinder. Ms agrees its the best. Only small negative is its single boiler so have to wait a few seconds after steaming milk before extracting brew.
A near new, 6 months used, DeLonghi full auto machine with inbuilt burr grinder - but couldn't get the grind fine enough. I now realise I could perhaps strip the machine down and do some hacking - after all its only sitting in cupboard.
I also have a Bialetti Moka pot, Vacuum fancy candle driven glass machine thing, a few French presses, an AeroPress, a few pour filter holders that go over a cup, and a stainless steel little one cup filter.
They all have their strengths and weaknesses.
Aeropress great for travelling and making a decent brew mostly.
French press, large, good for making coffee for say 4 people. Downside is grind must be right (and not easy to get right) otherwise you get grit in coffee.
Vacuum fancy machine - OK coffee but more dramatic and fiddly than needed. Fun to show off.
Pour filters can be good coffee but a bit too much faffing around - especially when making more than one cup.
The Moka pot is a must have. Traditional its a medium size for two cups and aluminium. The best I've used was a modern red enamel coated stainless steel one cup.
