I don't mind AAS. I give him kudos for experimenting outside groupthink and for generally having a good idea of things going together that "shouldn't".
Though I wonder whether his penchant for pairing exotic items all at once is as much due to necessity than preference, given he has 3 or 4 each of blackwatch jackets, pants, puffa vests, ties, umbrellas, gloves, thongs etc. but only like one blue shirt and one suit (which he got for free).
I have a lot of time for AAS.
He has a vision in his mind of a look he's after, he likes Blackwatch, he has a real job unlike most of SF, and he seems to actually, shock horror, enjoy his clothes and dressing.
He's not living off the parents money and strangely for SF, does a job which actually is useful and helps people, and therefor he does not have unlimited money. He shops at thrift stores for his love - black watch - he doesn't fly business class to Napoli and watch un tailors stitch his lapels and spend thousands on suits with defective shoulders to emulate someone else's defective shoulders.
What he does seems entirely consistent with him being an actual real person. He doesn't spend up on goth ninja inspired designer street wear to earn points with the hoodie kids, he doesn't wear boring fucking worsted grey suits and bland ties to gain kudos with the Tea Party Salaryman faction on SF.
He strikes me as just being who he is. And doing it well. He actually has a personal style. Most of SF wouldn't recognise personal style if it was a pineapple and crawled up their fundamental backwards
Hes appropriate - he dresses UP for a school teacher (I assume USA teachers are just as slobby as Oz teachers) but not UP too far to alienate the kids and staff.
I think hes in NYC if I were visiting there about the only online tackies I'd consider meeting for a beer, music night out or a decent coffee would be FNB, AAC, Crusty, David Reeves and possibly beardo Rob - whatever he calls himself these days.
I like real people.
