Comparison is useful because you cannot judge something in a void. You have to know what you are measuring against.

Roycru is a bit different and he plays on that and on the age of his kit and a type of humour that you may well dislike.

The Lino types are boring and predictable - Mediterranean medallion man.

Michael Alden is disagreeable though he probably spends a lot on clothes and heavy suit fabric from the early twentieth century. His facial expression is part of the problem.

Alden is a disagreeable person, no doubt. But i find neither his face nor his impressive/enviable wardrobe to be the problem. YMMV.

Is that corduroy?
I’m not really into corduroy but I think that outfit is good enough to not be in this thread. It’s done well enough to eschew any fusty professorial images that corduroy often evokes.
 
man needs wider pants to avoid the carrot look. pants seem to have fit issues as well. but overall it's well above the average joe.

I'm willing to assume he dressed up for a wedding or something like that. Which would put him above average joes, who would also play dress up, on such an event.

Sadly, I wasn't in a position to take covert photos today with my trusty Minox, but this is what I saw:

Napoleon Complex type, took an instant dislike to me as I exposed the errors in his AI vision for all things bespoke fabrication. At coffee break time there he was, and it was the guy next to me who nudged me and drew attention to Napoleon's suit jacket: it was several sizes too big for his miniscule size. Off the peg nightmare.

There was another dude with crepe soles. It's winter here. And he came from Germany, so no excuse.

And there was another freak doing a presentation in a pair of extreme tight fitting and too short jeans. His impact was negligible.

Then there was a prick who I know scored some of my work low in the past, only because I was a threat to him, in a pair of scuffed tanned double monks that had never ever seen shoe polish or nourisher from when he first bought them. He had a blue paisley shirt on and a purple tie half in-done and hanging down. Looked a very contrived look for a 63 year old, pretending that he wasn't working for the man. He's been working for the man for quite sometime.

Of those present, it has to be said: it was a close call between utter twatness from most nations - the archetypal man at C&A suit for work look - the only ones who held any decorum for the gravity of the event was in no order of preference: the Dutch, a couple of Italians (not all were on top form), The Kingdom, Brits and the American man.

Edit: there was my old work mucca from Georgia who was also rather dapper.

How come that tit Hal Freeman seems to have thus far escaped the wrath of this thread. He wears thrifted three piece suits to undergrad classes and today posted a pic of some Air Force weekend warriors’ function with everyone in uniform and him in a tux!

Of course one person has had the balls to call him out on this and was rounded on by a member of the SF Snowflake Defence Squad.
