Disagreeable Menswear Post Of The Day

Why do secessionists everywhere have to be so damn republican?

And so into the EU, it strikes me like they're not really convinced by this nationalism at all. Look at the SNP in the UK, they're full of that much hypocrisy, it's no wonder they've peaked and on the way down back into the gutter with their cans McEwans 80 shillings.

At heart, the SNP are nothing but puritanical socialists. They just channelled it into independence. Ditto for the Irish, but that conflict's long been decided, and I'm not touching it with a bargepole. The Catalan independence movement seems to me to be nothing more than the descendants of the defeated Spanish Republicans - some of the nastiest people in the entire history of Europe - who've been holding a grudge ever since.

The only Royalist indepence movement that I know of is in Crompton's backyard - I mean Naples and southern Italy.

Now for a suitably diseagreable picture.

What in God's name are those lapels?

It’s supposed to be a dinner jacket, so I would guess that they are grosgrain silk facings. Of course, the only plaid patterns allowed on those are proper tartans (such as Royal Stewart, Blackwatch, etc.). And that only if you are an old American boy!

But, hey, he is a RAKE!

The man has a channel called Men's Finest. I shall not comment on the name of the channel because it does quite a job on its own.
He is one of those many self-appointed style gurus, and he only swears by Suit Supply. He also happens to have a MtM business, and he sells accessories.

And I saw that this oaf now wants to write a book about classic menswear... A blind leading the blind.

Shit supply?

Are not that shop a frequent on Nenazas arrinconadas Spanish tacky lumpen forum rincon de caballeros? corner of Sissys?

Oh, you want clowns? Cop a load of this:

I forgot about Alpha M.
The man has a few Rolex but he cannot invest in a decent pair of shoes.
He has over a million subscribers and that is really frightening to see that much of a fan base. He does know how to run his channel but the content is gauche.
What I really find irritating is that their preaching is pernicious: they have no idea of what classic menswear should be and yet they have the audacity to teach it.
I bet that they have never heard of Alden, C&J etc...
All those dopes gather for their style conventions and share ridiculous advice with their naive audience. Well Pitti is coming and we will see our fair share of fragile and insecure men.

I know this is a classic jacket fabric or whatnot, but removed from any historical context, this has always struck me as something the late great Craig Sager would wear. And in this case, extra disagreeable combined with the tie.

Wow, tough crowd!

The only disagreeable things about that fit are the vanilla-ISIS beard and the piping on the hanky that basically matches the overcheck on the coat.

The tie has no place in that rig whatsoever.

Also @olof 1982is a shill.

The hanky is a no

Oh, and i don't like the tissue either.

I know you chaps don't like him, but the best advice on style, methinks, is contained in Roetzel's 'Gentleman'. Because it aims to be conventional. And when you know jack shit, like all of Alpha Male's audience, it is best to stick to conventional wisdom.

Also in this great (and growing) taxon of menswear is that Antonio Centeno (pron. Seyn-tanno). Like a cross between Alpha Male and that other piece of work Sven Raphael Schneider. This may sound harsh, but someone should tell him that he has has the wrong nose and the wrong face for film work. I'm no Adonis, so I should know.

I will admit that I watched a couple of his videos and found them useful at the time. There is something really creepy with his eyes, I found it very difficult to look at him in his videos.
There seems to be quite the proliferation with these guys: Teachingmensfashion is one as well - I cannot recall his name.
My issue with them essentially remains in the fact that they do not know anything and yet think that they can teach anyone anything about classic menswear.
I am really fond of romantic painters but I would not have the pretention to teach anyone about it, as I simply do not know enough to do so.

Roetzel is a bit different though, the fit of his clothes seems to be a lot more comfortable than the bozos that we mentionned. He does not look like a beef fillet in his suits. There are also Flussers' books which are good but he dresses like a sack of potatoes: 'Do as I say, not as I do'.

Suitsupply is a difficult one. I myself can't fit any of their RTW suits, as the trousers tend to be too tight. I have a friend that fits them exceptionally well, much better than way more expensive RTW brands (Corneliain, Canali, Zegna) - and for the cheap price, he swears to them.

They're definitely a "gateway" brand for many people, and have been for the past 5-10 years.

Now, with that said, a ton of the beginner experts and self-proclaimed iGent menswear gods that love SuSu, rarely check out other or more expensive stuff. These are usually the people that will stick to $500 suits, $150 shoes, $50 shirts, and tell you that anything more expensive is overpriced and overrated. They are basically the Simon Cromptons for the masses - and will sadly shill whatever shitty brands they can for free products.

He seems very keen to ingratiate himself. Always pointing to a part of the screen and saying ‘please go here to vote up my videos’. Has also recommended Ask Andy in the past which will not endear him to some. Maybe Andy has done him a favour in return. Seems earnest, but tries too hard.

Roetzel is not so bad. At least his stuff fits.

He is a top top bloke

There is this dhl guy working near my office
He looks like a blonde young hitler fan
Has elite rune tattoos on his forearms
A joy to look at

Could that be Lumpen Lumpen ?
Before you attack me with more sarcasm, I'm not saying Roetzel is an elite dresser, or even an elite human being; I just prefer his style compared to other tacky bloggers and shills because at least he looks classic most of the time, not a pitti parrot clown.
