Disagreeable Menswear Post Of The Day

I find totally unsuitable to wear a double breasted jacket this way, with the internal button fastened and the external loose. Moreover the trousers are ridiculously narrow at the bottom, letting the shoes appearing huge. A riddle what leans down below the back of the jacket. Also, breast pocket on the wrong side?

Shiny, shiny boots of leather...
There's larger than life....and then the build of Fatty Arbuckle combined with the jowls of Desperate Dan and the face of someone you would never leave your kids with.

Only hope there is a gastric by-pass and some serious lifestyle changes.

He is having to make it up as he goes along now that the market for bespoke tailoring is not what it was.

I like the first comment from JJ and Crapton’s response:-
‘It’s certainly not for work, JJ, as I imagine is the case with the vast majority of high-end workwear. No one is gardening let alone hauling railway sleepers in any of this!’

So it is a sort of expensive urban lumberjack thing for the well heeled.
WTF is high-end workwear?

florisgreen florisgreen , are you a noob to CM? or at least CM Igentry?

That is Valentino Ricci of house Sciamat. I guess his MO is to narrow-hemmed trousers, ridiculously large-lapelled DB with the fugly 'sciamattshoulder'worn in a silly way and a 70s porn star haircut.

His brother Nicola Ricci is even more of a suspect character.
Thank you for your contribution. I'm not so accustomed with iGentry, I just surf and spot looks I like or dislike. Frankly it's totally irrelevant to me who sports a look, I don't criticise it because of the person, I just give my personal aesthetic judgement.

For people like Craptom who actually don’t know how to dress in workwear, it is an affectation.

But there are beaucoup, primarily Japanese brands that dedicate themselves to replicating Americana and US workwear from the past.

Joe McCoy (Real McCoys), Buzz Rickson, Wings + Horns, Sassafrass, Visvim, et al., all produce variations of mid-century workwear with unique spins and high prices. Carhartt brought out Carhartt WIP (World in Progress) as a high end Euro workwear line.

One can go down the workwear rabbit hole as easily as the classic menswear or high end shoe rabbit holes. The granularity of igents has little over the granularity of SWD folks. Same as high end denim.

The distinction is that the menswear folks know little about the streetwear and denim workwear scene and the SWD crowd knows little about menswear. Cross-pollination is usually stillborn.

Most of the style influencers like Craptom don’t understand SWD and should stay away. InStitches at SF is another poser who tried to build SWD cred with his purchases but still came across as a tool.

If you ever need a made to order pair of 12 ounce canvas workwear trousers, with many hand passes, let me know and I can steer you in the right direction.

Good point. Maybe find some real non-celebrity types once and a while as a palate cleanser. It is easy to find horrid and some nice amongst the elites and usually cosplayers.

actually savaging forum cosplayers and igents should be encouraged

Not getting your point really. Should I catch a random street look and judge it? I get what is supposed to be criticised. If you don't like my posts, please ignore them. I consider myself a very tolerant person, but your arrogance and pedantry really get on my nerves.

I complimented you on the point you made. I then suggested that non-celeb pics can also provide a sound alternative as well given that few care what celebs.

Oh wait, here is a street pic that I did not even take. Fancy that.

I am sorry that you can’t figure it out any further.

You are tolerant except your tolerance has been exceeded by my pedantry and arrogance.

Fair deal.

Walter Walter here is your Wally.

Pimp and myself have signed up for a two day foundation course at Westminster Uni in, Subtext Material Reading entitled; How to read subliminal messaging in public forum posts for very tolerant people, next Wednesday and Thursday. I believe there are still a couple of places left if you'd like to join us FG.

you two will be in the advanced class as you both only slightly jump to conclusions re: subtext, and are not completely oblivious.

Plus Grand Potentate Grand Potentate sent me to a course too where I learned important things about writing for fora with diverse members. I came away with some great news usable tools to use when I am messaging. Just finished it.

Now I have to practice using my tools.

DISCLAIMER: nothing in this [insert menswear forum name] post is subtext and there are no subliminal messages. All words and thoughts are completely free of pedantry and arrogance. Any resemblance to subtext, derision, subliminal messaging or anything else perceived by the snowflake is purely coincidental and should not be taken as such by tolerant but oblivious forum members.

I agree. There is not really any fun in critiquing the unknown or celebs who are not concerned with looks as we are on the clothing fora.

If it is just the outfit that is to be analysed then more grown-up words than 'tacky ' and 'lol' need to be included in the dictionary.

However, as there is no agreed type who should be pilloried, oughtn't we just to accept any chosen pic until Manton recovers from his sacking by Trump?

Celebrities are too easy a target as one does not know if it is them or their stylist who is responsible for the hoorahs or horrors.

The derivative, dress by numbers, copy the crowd dandy sheeple are the best to critique because they are our comparators, no? Otherwise we can turn this joint into DressedWellCaryGrant.net or DressedWellCharlieWatts because we are all perfect like them.

So, let's take grey poupon, many find him well turned out. He is a poser, his wife is a poser, as a couple they are posers. I have a bias against hats because they are fucking hats and look like an affectation. Nice suit for posing in. I could not Matlock it because I have a hard enough time keeping my cream trousers clean. Ashes alone. Not practical for me, but maybe for him.

He is going for passport pictures. Lord thundering Jesus, that would be a coincidence for me and not a planned event complete mit outfit. But whatever, I am an arrogant pedant who has trouble with English.

His pictures need more crabs. Walter Walter where da crabs?

I will throw in our alumnus Betelguese. Grifting for clothing and shoes with pro photos and staged dog with a disapproving glance. I am more interested in looking at Diplomatic Ties new haircut.

But BG posts frequently now on SF and Insta. I just don't want to see a series of costume changes because he is sporting the same pair of cream trousers and the unpolished loafers.

I'm not saying he is not not well turned out but his self-shilling for handouts is sad. But maybe he is the NewGen Orgitoryx (sp) dress for less (price and number) but the former did not pimp himself for freebies.

He was remarkably dense about menswear and shipping charges when here.

Lovely. Well posed. Poist it in Agreeable. The ensemble.

Of course it is a shame In Stitches is a cosplayer no more. Perfect example of acquire credentials by buying brand. Did the crossover to SWD. Found some love.

This is classic disagreeable. Only a couple called him out on this. iGent Cosplaying celebrities that's the group. Or noobs who think they are advanced. It never takes long for mimics to go astray when they think for themselves.

Great post. A lot to think about in there.

what is going on with the bottom at the sleeves? How much he paid for that jacket and couldnt he find somebody to fix it from the shoulder side?

that is the whole point of the clueless but loved iGent celebrity defended by the fans. His shitty MTM sleeve buttons were explained away by the crowd.

Is that that officious little twat inStitches in the Gun Club? His jacket is too tight no wonder he can barely fold his arms.

All I have to say is fuck you very much Thruth Thruth for making me look at Snitches again.
You are welcome. Just to make it complete, here is In Stitches doing a SWD of what Charlie Brown might look like if he did SWD. Sullen face and snowflakes describes the pain
