This is very common on places like SF and AAAC. I think that it's for two reasons - it lets people looking at the post know that the person has taste, in the sense that they are purchasing SF- or AAAC-approved brands, and it lets people who are curious about the clothes and who think "Oh, I like that jacket" know where they can potentially get the jacket. In that sense, it can be quite useful as, in an ideal world, it would stop people from cluttering up the "What are you wearing" threads by asking "Where did you get that jacket?".

Unfortunately, that usually doesn't happen and you still end up with people asking where you got that jacket or how much you paid for it, or just re-quoting your post, quite possibly without spoilers so it takes up an inordinate amount of space, just to add a one-line comment at the bottom!

In most cases its important to list articles if its a full length photo. Gives people - mainly lurkers who are always the biggest proportion of readers - a chance to quickly note something without elaborate effort.

And if you dig through my older pictures, you will clearly see that I have taken a whole lot of feedback to heart. That is not, by any means, to say that I do not have a ton to learn.

I agree with your general assessment of the fit--the sleeves are too long. I will be the first to admit it, and the first to say that getting sleeves altered to the right size (for some reason or another) is a gigantic pain in the ass for me. For some reason or another, I err on the side of caution, and normally get it wrong.

Personally, I use online forums as a means for engaging in conversation with like-minded people, and as a creative outlet. My job is boring, like many, and takes little imagination. It does not stimulate my creative side. I like writing long-winded reviews, and discuss my experiences, because I enjoy reading the experiences of others. I view it as "giving back," but I guess others view it as "showing off." Horses for courses.

As for adding my watch, well, if you look at some of my older posts, you will see that Watches have been, and continue to be, a passion of mine. The thread is WAYWRN. You wear a watch. I apologize if it offends. Personally, I think it adds to an outfit.

I am looking forward to my experience with Despos, and I hope to learn a lot. Despite being on the slimmer side (not to say that I am in great shape, or slim), I have a fairly difficult body to fit. My front/back balance is way off, I have very square shoulders, and I have large hips, and a slim(mer) waist.

N Newc - I saw on SF that you said you live in Lafayette. One of my best friends from school is from there, and I'll back up your claim that there are not many places to shop.

I hate parking enforcement. Here in KC, its a bunch fat bitches who drive around Ford Focuses and give tickets. Last year I got a ticket for parking 5 inches too far from the curb and cost me 100 bucks.

Oh man - Lafayette - I'd give up all my sartorial pretensions, including my meta ankle cuffed trousers, precisely calibrated jacket cuff length, split waist bands, knit ties, OCBDs, and GYW shoes to hear a bit of decent live zydeco and cajun and slurp jambalaya and fili gumbo. Although maybe this is just a foreigner yearning for a dreamtime which never really existed. Still I can descend into a tacky dilettante's revere with a James Lee Burke book and tabasco I suppose.

Man, it is not a bad at all. If you have never been--it really is a good place to at least grab some lunch. Never lived in a place where you can eat so well for under $10. Funny enough, I would say that many of the locals survive on a diet of crawfish, jambalaya, fried fish, crawfish etoufee, and gumbo (aka, gravy soup). Of course, New Orleans is probably the better destination, but you certainly won't eat as well (or--as well for so little dinero.)
 
I'd take Lafayette (or Baton Rouge) over New Orleans anyday. It's way too dirty.
 
In Orlando I get to eat very well for less than 6 dollars a meal. New Orleans food is damn good though, Coop's place ftw!!!

This post was entitled, "Dress accordingly, stay stylish!". I usually wouldn't call a sleeveless DB jacket/vest mix-up stylish, but perhaps I'm in the minority.

This one was simply entitled "Effortless", which is probably accurate, as judging by the awful shirt collar, ridiculously skinny tie and clip-on braces worn with trousers that have belt loops, he put a minimum of effort into getting dressed.

I can deal with the width of the tie. It's out of step either the times, but so what. However, I cannot tolerate a yellow paisley tie. It's wrong and should be condemned by all, including the blind.

the jacket is quite nice. he apologized for the cuffs so i think he was showing off his eBay score but still a very dumb thing to do
