I haven't had time to look at the sources of those drugs deaths etc. Strangely Australia and NZ aren't there. mmh - its only northern hemisphere. No South Americas, no Africa, ----Oh oh stupid me - its an EU study. bah.. Danger of thinking out load and typing. I'd be curious to see USA /Canada etc and the rest of the world. But fair enough if its EU I guess.

I'd be disinclined to claim too much from Portugal's laws but largely from what I hear its been a good thing.

I haven't looked to if it includes prescription drugs, street drugs etc. And how they collect data. It doesn't seem on the surface that it makes any sense that Estonia should be twice Sweden rates - looks like a distortion. .....

Interesting. I knew that German universities were free for German students, but didn't realise that it applied to students of other nationalities, too.

I wonder how long Germany will be able to afford to educate people from other countries, free of charge?

It's an interesting change from Australia, where international students have become a massive cash cow. When I was at university, there were very few fee-paying international students, especially at the undergraduate level. Most non-Australian students were either studying English, rather than doing a degree, or were doing a semester in Australia as part of an exchange program. However, over the past 15 years, the international student market has exploded, and now quite a lot of Australian universities have international student enrolments that constitute 25% or more of total student enrolments. It's very, very lucrative - a degree that costs a local student $40 000 in university fees could cost an international student $100 000 in fees - and, unfortunately, it's given the government an excuse to cut university funding or to keep it stagnant, so that the universities are, in essence, forced to keep up funding through enrolling more international students.

Its stated in the article that they're considering adding in a fee. What's also stated, and what I found interesting, is that they're essentially using this as a way to combat the low birth rate. Hoping that the students stay on in Germany to get jobs and start business. Its fascinating from a nation building standpoint.

Tried that shit in the US, now we have a glut of office Indians who take jobs at much lower pay.

In addition it has seen the poplar courses amongst overseas student lower standards by many means one is - by almost entirely dropping long essays and or oral presentations that require thought, grammar and the ability to express oneself, and replacing them with frequent short multi choice exams that reward rote learning and regurgitating back to lecturers their own words and text book paragraphs.

Deserves $150m to box a few rounds? LOL. I singled him out because he's double anyone else at the top, and everyone sorta hates him. Funny how society enriches him, says a lot about American morals and values.

American morals/values didn't enrich him over the last year. His PPV buys were and are Worldwide. hHe takes home very little in sponsorship/endorsements.

I don't hate him. And everyone doesn't. I am not one of those people out there who hate celebrities/athletes/actors/etc who I have never met. People are gonna hate regardless. It is stupid, but they are.

Box a few rounds? I counter that what he does requires as much/more physical abilities as anyone on the list. For fuck's sake, there are 3 golfers on the list. That' shit ain't stressful.

-Does L DiCaprio "deserve" $40 mil for 1 picture? Maybe. Maybe not. But that is what he and his team negotiated.
-Does G Clooney deserve his salary for his recent film, "Tomorrowland" when they are saying will be the biggest Disney flop in 2 years and lose $140 million? Think about it, the guy really only makes shit movies(except really a couple-Ocean films where is is part of a bigger cast and not trying to carry the movie.) But that is what he and his team negotiated.
-Does Tiger Woods still deserve almost $50 mil in endorsements(his golf take home was only about $1 mil) after playing like shit the last year(s). Maybe not, but he signed the contract.

I don't get people who "knock" other for getting what they can get $ wise. If I could hit a jump shot(like Kevin Durant) or had a great left hook or a great backhand, I would look to maximize my income playing that sport. If I could act and get $20mil a pic, I would do it.

And so would a lot of people.

I think they're all pretty much overpaid. They make what they can get, doesn't mean society's priorities are not out of whack.
