I say open it up for special events when it can be expected that a decent number of participants will be present.
24/7 is beyond pointless.

That would be WAY too annoying to do. I requires a lot of fiddling around to turn things on and off for people.
 
So I activated the shoutbox. You all should be able to see it on the main forum index page. Give it a try.

Its currently placed as a widget above the forum list. I could move that to its own tab, but from our previous instance of using it, the only person that ever used it was Jimmy.

according to the urban dictionary it refers to a spanish-speaking person, from mexico, central or south america, spain, or portugal. which would include sarto. aryan is much less clear.

Some of the people seem to like it. Is it just the fact that its adding screen real estate?

Sarto's been banned from the shoutbox. Are you really saying you want to ban him? Think of all the emails you'll be missing out on!?!?
 
Indeed. But Sarto does not identify with his Bretheren. He tells me he is part of the Aryan Race and that is his nation. Their greatness is everywhere. We here at DW cannot force him to embrace the country of his birth, his cultural background or his nationality on his passport (if it hasn't already been confiscated).

We already do a rather poor job on intercultural discourse.

No, if he refuses to consider himself a spic then we would be doing all DW's spics a disservice by banning them. Sarto would go to a human rights tribunal and we would be forced to reinstate him based on his Aryanian leanings. Then we would be spic-free but overly Sarto-centric.

We have appealed to the UN and the EU for a ruling on Sarto. We need to know when he was first Aryanized and his level of Aryanibility

DNA testing is underway on a hair we found in the dark room of disease which we are comparing to a similar one we found in the Kiton dungeons.

Interestingly, the aryan can be traced back to sanskrit although Sarto's usage of it comes from a more recent bastardization of the term.

We have already banned other declared Aryans such as Vic Hilter, Stevie Himmler and Randy Mengele so this would not be a stretch. We are investigating Trevor Goebbels too.

We at DW appreciate your concern for ethnic cleansing of the forum and we will report back in due time.

Ok. Options for moving include:

-It's own navigation tab on the top. Labeled chat or shoutbox I assume

-moving the current location below the forum list

It's also showing on the home page currently at the top.

Why would he want to be Aryan? Those guys get their dicks kicked in in like every war by the superior Anglo. Even the half assed Slavs beat them.

It would be good if Sarto wanted to be Nordic nobility but his definition is much more narrowly interpreted.

Hmm, if he was he probably get better deals at Skoaktibowlofsoup instead of bothering Tony G so much that they sew his toe caps crooked.

I haven't seen any formal demounting of the Scicilian Englishman. The shoes might be back with them.

What do you guys think of this - Threadmarking places in a thread to keep place when it becomes long:

The thread mark allows you to jump to a specific place in the thread automatically. So, for instance, in a TV thread, you could threadmark the start of an episode's discussion if the series was long, or you could mark events in a long discussion that went on and on for pages on end.

I'll eventually be adding the feature as a function for conversations so you can mark your points for long PM convo's, but I wanted to get your take on the ability to do that in threads.

It's still showing at the top of the forum list for me.

I don't mind the shoutbox, but I think that it would be much better down at the bottom of the screen instead of up at the top.

I just double checked your account. Its down at the bottom now.

Also, I just realised that if I click on the "Forums" tab at the top of the screen, the shoutbox is indeed at the bottom of the list of various sub-forums (that really should be "for a" but the god-damned forum software doesn't let me type "for a" as one word!).

However, if I click on the "Home" tab at the top of the screen, the shoutbox is still at the top of the screen, instead of at the bottom of the list of sub-forums.

Yeah, sorry about that. I'm having some trouble with the LoginAsUser function and I wasn't able to logout for some reason on the main forum theme, so I had to switch it. Just scroll to the bottom and change it back if you like.

fora? That's your browser, not the forum software.
