Another small change I just made is a more visible Share icon. Most people don't seem to know we now have the Add This service, which lets you share individual posts to any service you like. So now there's this little plus sign next to the post number:

And this is where you can find the Share This menu:

Share This works on your user preferences and the + sign, when hovered over, opens up a popup of more options:

And when you click on the plus sign, you can share to any and every service imaginable:

That scroll box goes on for a LONG time. There are literally 100's of services.
 
I was toying with making a post requirement for DT. Something like 20 posts. Maybe get some of these lurkers and SF spies to post. Thoughts?
 
Another feature I've been toying with is adding either Pushbullet or Pushover support:

https://pushover.net/

Via either an Android or iPhone app, you get instant updates when you get alerts. Sort of like the way TapaTalk used to do it.

Pros of PushOver is that its a more mature software platform, supports more apps and IFTTT, and seems to work slightly better although that's debatable. They also have a desktop app for both windows and mac. Cons are that the app costs $5.

Pros of PushBullet are that its free to use the app. Cons are that its not as useable as PushOver with less app support.

Seemingly, the apps would work the same way via the forum. Here's some example screenshots:

Isn't this standard in most places? Screw the spies and lurkers. You gotta put out to see the good stuff. To be sneaky, you continually link to DT topics from the outside so people know it's there and why they can't see it.
 
Guys, liking is helpful, but actual constructive comments are much more useful in here.
 
Yeah, it forces people to take a chance at posting. Better chance of them finding they like it.
The security aspect is worth it too, as we have no real screening beyond signing up. This would be a mild vetting for the inner circle, yo.
 
I was just liking becuase I agreed. Make minimum post count for DT.

What do we think about this?
 
I need to make us a Welcome post with an introduction to what the forum's about and could use some help mocking this up. Suggestions on phrases and statements to include would be welcome.
 
WTF? They don't show on my end. No link, no text, nothing. Hmm, it works in IE, not with Firefox. Maybe ABP kills it? Yup.

Ad Block Plus nukes the Amazon stuff.

Interesting. I use a different ad blocker and see it fine. Just add it to your whitelist I suppose.
 
Got some good news about the forum theme flickering on iOS. The fix should be coming in the next week or so.
 
Anyone give more thought to the push updates on mobile?

Also, does anyone think a weekly email showing new and active threads would be worthwhile or annoying?
 
Also, I updated the editor to include Font Awesome icons finally. I chose the Hazard/Warning sign for the Spoiler button

I just chose that for the time being but can change it to whatever you guys like best. Personally, never got the connection between the flag and the spoiler, but that's just me. The list of current icons is here:

I was thinking about creating a YouTube channel and collecting a best-of of clothing videos from YouTube. Thoughts? Would anybody be interested in running that?
 
I've got a Google account but I've never used it.

I have a Facebook account but don't use it a great deal. However, if someone created a "Dressed Well" page on FB, I will "like" it or join it or whatever one does.

Do we have a thread that already has some related videos in it? Well, sort of.
It could help our presence and exposure.

Same here for FB. Don't have a Google whatchmaijig.
 
I have some Google account thingy not sure if it is plus. Have FB but never use it but could work up the effort to "like" DW
 
So seems like that's a relative no on both fronts.

I thought the youtube channel might be interesting. This alternate theme has a YouTube icon in the top bar, so that's what lead me to the idea. We'd need someone to curate videos from youtube.
