Ok, so as some of you know, Harvey asked to have his account removed and his posts deleted due to security reasons. As he is my actual IRL friend, I felt it was the least I could do. Trouble is, it was a real problem to manage since he had so many fucking posts. I had to end up deleting all of his threads, posts, messages, etc.. But, the system has certain limitations, and one of them is that I can't see when someone has been quoted. So if you guys find any of his quoted posts please bring them to my attention.

Also, to get into his account I had to prune the ranks. A LOT of posts and threads ended up getting caught in the crossfire. I know we lost the ass thread in DT, along with a few other things. If you see any threads missing please recreate them.

Lastly, the rosters got trimmed again with anyone who hadn't logged in since the switch over to the new domain name. I had to do this to manage the database and help out with the search. We're down to 60 people now. Solidarity!

Advanced search lets one find mentions of the username, as occurs when quoted.
I've started to either scrap posts where he's quoted, or clip out the name. Is this overkill or should we all be doing this?

To be honest, most of it seemed rather harmless, and caught up in cultural differences. The Russian guy was much more vitriolic than Sartodi, but it still just sounded like most of the Russians I meet in real life. Sartodi doesn't like Gianni, and isn't a fan of the gays. So? He isn't wishing death to them all.

So how about this, how we keep any of the gay talk out of this thread, ok? Sartodinapoli no more references to Gianni's sexuality or gay-ano? I'm ok with the word fag, for the record.
 
I'm going to give up my membership here, on account of this last posting. The word f*g is hate speech, and is deeply offensive to me, and I am sure to a lot of people reading this forum.
I'm not gay, but I work with gay people, and I have two close family members who are, and who have both experienced the most hateful bullying and discrimination. One of those family members is my son.
I have enjoyed my few short days here, and this thread in particular. Yes, I know that Sartodinapoli has posted off-colour remarks before, and he has my pity. Someone so hateful and frustrated is obviously hiding a large part of his interior life from the world. I can only hope he finds some peace and self-acceptance.
No, my anger is directed at the moderator, Rambo, for allowing him to post unchecked, and by his inaction in allowing the publication of this hate. Finally, Rambo's explicit admission that he is 'ok with the word f*g', has told me that I will not be comfortable here. Rambo, you need to get educated on the use of language as a tool of division and discrimination, and start to haul yourself into the latter part of the 20th century at least.

It was nice while it lasted.

Is completely fucking ridiculous. What if someone wanted to make a joke with the use of the word fag?
