Trying to keep this to value-neutral analysis of the actions and organizations of the two political parties in America.
And we'll begin with Florida, where the Florida Democratic Party is insanely inept. In a diverse state where Democrats outnumber Republicans, the entire cabinet is Republican, as is the governor, and the majority of both chambers of state legislature. Last election, the FDP ran as their candidate for CFO a guy who had declared bankruptcy a few times. When he was exposed and dropped out, they nominated someone who had a bunch of tax liens. Rolling the dice again (who needs vetting!) the party essentially gave up and some random guy took the nomination. The current frontrunner for the democratic nomination for the 2018 governor's race is Andrew Gillum, who is 37, has worked in municipal politics all his life, has a ton of corruption issues, and is the mayor of the most violent city in Florida (Tallahassee). A city that will be bankrupt in less than ten years by most estimates. He announced his candidacy via his city email account (which is illegal, as you imagine).
So anyway, who to come in and save the party? To shape it up and win the state back? Sally Boynton Brown, of Boise, Idaho.
Wow. Idaho, huh? She must have done a fantastic job up there to get a gig in Florida, right?
No, not really. Idaho has a Republican governor, two Republican senators, an all-Republican Congressional delegation and an all-Republican Cabinet.
But, to her credit, she might win back voters, as she feels her job is to "tell white people when to shut their mouths."

With this charmer taking over, I'm optimistic Florida will be turned purple again, maybe even blue, in no time at all.
