The Twist Worsted reminds me of Reid & Taylor.

They are similar, made in Scotland, relatively heavy weight. Have a bunch of actual Reid and Taylor twist worsted I posted earlier in the thread. Not that hard to find old stock. Too heavy and scratchy for most people.

This one is being made up now :

Also have this one lying around:

Have some other types of twist too :

The cloth or the the tailor?

Cloth : unknown manufacturer 50s Scottish tweed. Olde world. Not bullshit Gianni dating, I saw the original log book.

Tailor : if I really give it tomorrow (almost certain), back alley napoli tailor of LKP LKP

The cloth. Extra points for back alleging tailoring though.

Where is our dear LKP LKP these days.

There were a number of books. Silver Gander, Bronze Eagle picture above, and another one I can't remember at the moment.

The Silver Gander was about 18oz as I recall, very expensive cloth but tailored beautifully. A tailors favourite.

Minnis had a Twist cloth bunch too, which was also superb, probably R&T. That's gone now too.

The last Silver Gander book was in the 00s I believe. After that the twisting machines were apparently destroyed and/or heavy weight colored (other than blue and grey) cloth in the necessary quality was no longer available.

Keith Henderson (part of Holland and Sherry) also did books made by Reid and Taylor. R&T made cloth for everyone. They did a non twist, but very colorful worsted for H Lesser in the Golden Bale quality. I also have somewhere a nice refined twist R&T did for Lear Brown and Dunsford.

Just saw a very nice book of new "R&T" twist cloth, recently put out, but in a lighter weight, 395 g or so. Don't think they can really do anything heavier now for the reasons stated above. The quality seemed very nice. Will geit some more info on this new book. Here is a picture from the book I just saw :

My tailor has a pattern bunch of the one whose name I can't remember. I'll borrow it next time I call in, take photos and post em, so the members can drool...

Here is the R&T bronze eagle now made up. It's very fine cloth, not at all rough looking or feeling like some other twists. It's 18 oz + but wears relatively normal, not much different than 13oz worsted and not nearly as hot as flannel.
