FTFYHello there lovers of soft collar rolls, Mogador ties, teensy weensy skinny tie knots, and funky restrooms. .
.
I hadn’t, avuelo. I hope you can forgive me one day. For the small tie knot, too.
Its complicated. At times I've been told different "rules".I don't understand this trouser cuff obsession. It can be agreeable sometimes but why should it be an obligation? What's the added value? Motivate your views.

Only very recently have I seen spouted by iGentts - Cuffs = formal on suits
- Cuffs (rollups) are by definition more casual/farmer - cuffless is more formal.
- Cuffs always with pleats, especially more than one pleat. No cuffs with flat front.
- Cuffs with wide trousers - no cuffs with narrow.
- Cuff on country trousers (cords, whipcord, cavalry twill, moleskin) no cuffs on city trousers
- Cuff heavy/substantial trousers (cord etc) no cuff lightweight trousers.
- Cuffs on lightweight trousers to give them weight helps improve drape etc.
I've had cuffs over the years but now have only one pair of trousers with cuffs. Almost all of my stuff is flat front. A few with one pleat. I had a suit made at the height of the online cuff mania. After 2 months I took it back and had cuffs removed. They don't work for me.
I think all the rules have some sense at times - I think, in general, cuffs are inherently less formal. I see a lot of 2" cuffs on suits and many, but certainly not all, look alright to me.you forgot the only rule regarding cuffs that matters and the only one that must be followed. No cuffs ever on formal wear (tux, morning suit, etc...)

I am thinking of cuffing that cotton suit as its very lightweight and the bottoms flap around too much for my liking. It would have to be a part faked cuff though as there isn't enough material to do a proper 1.75" cuff.
The reason I don't like cuffs anymore is just becoming fatter. No cuffs and a slight break just looks better. I used to cuff pretty much everything before too.
Are your cankles cuffed?
Wait till Sarto hears about this

I’d meant the pointy unshoos and the jeans in combination with the rest!Tweed and wax is more Engrish no?
I'm wearing socks too, and the buttons in my shirt are all done except the verri top
I'm not a good patriot

I should let the real Englishmen of this forum to parse out “lo stile anglese,” but I would say that those unshoos, the white shirt, and the jeans would be entirely out of place. Not that you should care!
Of course, you can. But not with those jeans and unshoos! You can break the rules, I personally wouldn't do a gamekeeper tweed with a button-down, but that herringbone looks good to my eyes.
That’s beautiful. . .I notice this morning the lining on my favourite herringbone jacket from J.Press is disintegrating:

“Must we mean what we say?” Especially on DW.you ask for a Brit's opinion, you got one. do what you want.
Precisely. Tattersall to be exact. Moleskin or corduroy pants to the cankles. But I'd imagine the legit “lo stile anglese” would be those viyella country check style shirts (add a jumper and country tie too).
