Nope, never been to the armoury. I'd like to go though, maybe bring some socks for those poor fellows. It must be awfully tough realising you can't afford socks after having spent money on a liverano suit and st crispins shoes.

Anyways, this is a Valstarino I yooxed for 90 quid. Not a bad deal for a wool flannel jacket I'd say.

Also, if you're going to stalk me, at least get the details right. I deserve a better stalker than you, Conchita.

Really, shame on you Conchita. How could you possibly confuse the Armoury with NMWA?
That is like confusing the viola milano guy with @danielre or PKL with LPK or total look mararo with total look pirozzi or sartoria pirozzi with pirozzi of 197 via Chiaia or Mohamad Ayoubi with Mr. Roberto Raro.

The only thing I've ever bought from NMWA is a briefcase, and that was a pretty good deal as well. The only SF affiliate I really support is Exquisite Trimmings. The name of his store is a bit silly, but he does have good ties, often at a lower price than the manufacturers themselves offer them.

Anyways, you can hate on Eidos as much as you want, but no one has shown a comparable brand as of yet. The same deal as I have with Luxire still stands. Show me a brand/maker you like that has a similar price/quality ratio and I'll switch to that one. So far, no one has been able to do that, which tells me that your hate is unwarranted.

I don't think that many people here hate Luxire or Eidos. Hating suggests one has to care enough about it to formulate hate. Well Sartodinapoli hates Luxire.

If there is hate/dislike it stems from - as usually is the case - the uninformed making uninformed decisions and ending up with ill-fitting and or I'll-thought out shirts etc.

For someone who is looking for a cost-effective factory MTM shirt, go for it. As you have said you cannot find other MTO or bespoke in the same price range.

Same for Eidos. Coronating a new brand the next big thing as SF does leads to noobs and knobs jumping in on the uptake without figuring out if it works for their size/shape.

Again, if it works for you fit-wise and cost-wise who am I to say good or bad.

The one thing you will find here as opposed to SF is that none of the members that do bespoke, or MTM for that matter, pimp their particular makers much or at all. They speak of them in general terms within the context of what they like and what they get out of the interaction with the tailors. Which - other than being pleased with the shirt or suit - someone does not get directly from Luxire or Eidos. But that May not be important for some

No, it's just with this particular jacket. Putting your hands in your pocket forces them in a particular angle, because the pockets are so high. It makes it look like you have a gun in your pocket and pointing it at someone. Like they do in cartoons. A baddie puts the gun in his pocket and points it at the hero from within his pocket.

I don't get your post. We're talking about RTW here. You're not going to get anything out of the interaction with a sales associate, so why would you talk about it?

Not everyone can afford bespoke or thinks it's worth it. I think dropping £3k-£5k on a suit if you don't make at least £500k/year is ridiculous, which means bespoke is only possible for a very small subsection of people. I might do it later in life, but at 23 my priority is saving enough so I can buy an apartment. Hence I'm going to try to find something that I find acceptable, but isn't going to break the bank. Not just for clothes, but everything.

I'm not looking for the best, merely something that's adequate within a certain price range. The most I've ever spent on a suit is about £400.

Yes I suppose i should have broken out individual themes separately.

Small point but in general terms i think it is possible to get bespoke at less than what you quote and you don't have to make anywhere close to what you say you need to make to afford bespoke. But these are moot point with respect to you specifically and no one is telling you what you should do.

You choose to afford what you can and want to afford. Understood and reasonable.

It is still possible to have good interactions with SA's even in RTW establishments.
 
I've looked into traveling tailors, but it seems like a hassle, with a higher chance of receiving substandard goods/no goods. A good off-Savile Row tailor will cost at least £2500 for bespoke. Steed bespoke with a basic fabric is around that.

Call me crazy, but I'm not dropping that much on a suit. Percentage wise I'd have to make around £480k to justify a £3k suit.

Do remember I'm living in London, with the associated high costs of living. Housing prices are going up faster than my salary year on year, and my salary curve is very steep compared to my peers.

I'm afraid not, everyone's financial situation and goals are different. Go to a financial advisor, tell him your hopes and dreams and see how much he thinks is responsible.

Keep on doing what you are doing given where you are in life. However just be aware that Europe is a big place and you can get quality bespoke at prices well below what you quote. It may involve travel but that can be fairly cheap. Regional UK bespoke tailors are even an option.

I am sure Sartodinapoli could introduce you to good old tailors in Napoli who could fit you up at far less than you quote.

But it would still be more than what you are willing/able to pay for a suit. You have a plan so stick with it. Just don't overgeneralize based on your fairly narrow experience to date

Cheers. I am always talking about myself, don't want to presume anything about someone else's situation. Traveling to Naples just for a suit doesn't seem to make much sense. A weekend flight is about 100 quid, and and a night at a hotel will be around 75.

A good bespoke suit takes 3 fittings, right? So that's 3 trips at 175 a pop, which will make any Naples suit 525 more expensive, which I'm guessing will bring the total cost 2k+? Or am I doing the math wrong? How do others do this?

Btw, traveling to Naples for 3 weekends just for a suit seems pretty miserable to me. It's not exactly the nicest city in Italy.
 
I put that forward just to show that even with travel bespoke can easily be half of what you quote for London, that's all.
