T&A purple grid check thing, vintage Gieves & Hawkes zipped jacket circa '95, T&A grey chinos, Gieves & Hawkes chukkas very creased but have served me well these past 25 years, Ball Fireman watch, just waiting for a lightning storm so I can use the telemeter.

A purple theme developing with shirts there, not sure where it will end up:

Here is the true diabolic face of all Neapolitan AI. Cheers from Sarto and... MarcodiNapoli.

Funny you should mention MarcodiNapoli aka Gentelman.napoletano aka Marcodinarco. An incredible bad taster and spaghetti merchant. Please checkout the crown of his low taste watch collection. Something about his style reminds me of a former member but I don't thinks it's his hair; I can't quite place it.

I mentioned him on request from Sartodinapoli only to obtain free unties.

LOVE THE BALL WATCH

The higher range Ball's are where Tag was 10-14 years ago. Same standard of finish: watch face, bracelet and probably a better modification on the movements.

We'll see how Ball progress in the next few years.

fireman watch, policeman shoes

As you well know, Ball watches refers to the Rail Road Standard, the fireman they speak of, is the fireman on a steam train i.e. the chap who stokes the engine with coal. A working man's job I agree and yet essential to the manifest destiny of America. There's a romance and provenance in that...but sadly, nothing I can claim on my C&J's vintage chukkas.

Quite correct, I don't need a comb: I take Yul Brynner, Telly Savalas and The Hood from Thunderbirds as my lifestyle gurus. However, I am often mistaken for Harry Hill and with contact lenses, Michael Stipe. Oddly enough.
you don't meet a lot of Yul's and Telly's these days.

The premature balding cures are still not mainstream over here. Hence you will still find plenty of full-on shaven heads. Too late for me mind you.

Until David Beckham shaved his head, in the UK it was a sign of thuggery, clone zone gays, or having had chemotherapy. Yes, you had skinheads previously but that always fell under the yobs and skinhead youth movements. I'm not a football fan, but Beckham did a tremendous thing for slap heads. That made shaven heads acceptable, but that was a bit later than the mid 1990's.

The problem is, on a youngish man, premature baldness looks bloody awful and the only cure is completely off. But not everyone has a head that looks good fully shaven, as I do. Fortunately!

You also look a lot younger and a lot of women find shaven heads extremely attractive, but so too gays. A shaven head if you're reasonably good looking you'll get attention from all sides. Good if you swing both ways, I suppose.

I personally, don't have the time or interest either way.

The other negative: completely shaven heads look awful on men after a certain age. Late fifties, maybe earlier, or maybe later, not quite sure. But the time comes when you need to grow what remains out and come it back. I mean to look dignified with age.

Woot, it's now Spring time. I can now start wearing flowers in my lapel and cravats again, and also lots of colourful footwear like reds and blues and greens and alligator, and fancy hats when outside. Springtime is to go all out. Woot!

I also want to start doing bow ties because the usual neckties are far too luxurious to be worn in Oz the way l like things to be. The highest end neckties are only for the super rich. Why? Because one food spill and $400 ties go in the bin, therefore cravats and bows are better for me. Neckties are very expensive in Oz,and l like to view them as disposable objects because spills can easily happen.

I must take you to task shooey; Neckties is what Americans call them. Civilized people just call them ties.

Also you can gently wash silk ties clean in many, not all cases, and they turn out alright.

Yes, l loathe using american words because so many of them are uncouth imo, however l force myself to use them so people can understand me online. Other words l absolutely loathe are:
- bluchers (such an odd word, and very plebish sounding). The word `derby' is a far superior substitute, and quite classy.
- sweaters (a really gross low level word that is super plebish imo, and quite senseless sounding)...l much prefer the word `jumpers'. A jumper shouldn't make you sweat, and why does anyone want to be reminded of sweat when associating it with a jumper. So silly.

Also you can gently wash silk ties clean in many, not all cases, and they turn out alright.

Yes l recall your advice very well, but l still don't want to take the risk of wearing expensive neckwear if l need a bite to eat.

'Eyeglasses' instead of glasses or specs is another strange one.

'Blucher' may be a reference to the Prussian military man from the battle of Waterloo. A sort of Wellington equivalent.

The occasional food stain (and worse) never held back Sir Les Patterson.

footshoe? are you high right now?

It extrapolates necktie to other clothing items. Saying tie implies that one wears it around one's neck, similar to how saying shoe implies that one wears it on one's foot.

So, if necktie were to be a valid word, then footshoe would be acceptable as well. Seeing as footshoe is ridiculous, we can conclude that necktie is equally stupid. You can't argue with that!

shoelace? pocket hankie wrist watch

Shoe lace is fine, because there is a different kind of lace. No one says pocket hankie, it’s either pocket square or hankie. Pocket square is fine, because there are different kinds of squares. Wrist watch is also fine, because there’s also a pocket watch, but in this day and age I’d say it’s almost a tautology because no one has a pocket watch anyways, so watch will suffice.

Speak for yourself, both Crusty and myself use them in preference to the more common and some might say uncouth wrist watches. And yes, mine's a Longines:
