What Are You Wearing Today?

Navy H&J jacket, charcoal trousers. Not convinced they work together.

There's been a lot of negative spin about Barbour recently, that it's not shock and horror, a luxury item. Of course not, it's made in South Shealds to be worn in inclement weather to keep the rain and damp off your clothes when bringing in the cows to be milked..
FTFY

Thanks guys. I'll be on the lookout for a decent pair of mid gray trousers. Light gray strike me as too pointy-shoe jobsworth, usually worn skin-tight around here.

Agreed on the formality side fxh, that's what I was struggling with in the morning. I should have just put a tie on and ignored any weird looks. Wearing non-black shoes with grey is a big leap for me, years of school uniform drilled that one in...

That’s your problem innit?
Navy blazer, gray jumper, black trousers and black shoes was my school uniform so for me it’s easy to keep away from that combination. Ditch the jumper, lighter trousers, chocolate or polo suede, chilli or brown calf shoes, some pattern (stripe or check) or texture to the shirt. Shake things up that way and you can wear any version of a dark blue or navy jacket / blazer without the dreaded security guard or school uniform attachment.

Barbour is solid.

Solaro and low vamp suede tassels. It’s wonderful being able to wear solaro year round here. I am getting more looks here than in London though, so I suppose it’s not very common.

Picking up unlined scratchy navy fresco suit from Italian trained Mexican tailor tomorrow. Let’s see if he did a good job. A little scary using a new tailor for the first time.

Monkeyface Monkeyface youre in LA now right? do you like the US so far?

Yep and yep! LA is wonderful so far, all the bureaucracy and hassles associated with moving to the US not so much. It’s probably one of the most difficult countries in the world to move to.

Once I’m settled in I think I’ll quite enjoy it. It feels like a permanent vacation with the sunshine, beach, palm trees, mountains, beautiful nature, etc. It also kinda feels like a third world country with the infrastructure falling apart and everything is tearing apart at the seams, but that adds to the vacation feeling I guess. The people are super helpful and friendly, but the government is super slow and annoying. Americans are also experts at dodging responsibility and sticking to the letter of their job description. It almost reminds me of Cuba. Roads are a little better in Cuba though.

That's because the Southern part of California is basically North Mexico.

Got a suit made or altered?

Close up of wrist enhancement hardware please. So we may know who all your base belong to.
Here you go, fxh fxh . On that day, I was wearing the Seiko on the right (SKX007J) on a khaki NATO strap. I also have a bunch Times Weekenders, but no canny buys!

The Italian trained Mexican tailor forgot the 2” cuffs, and blamed it on tequila. He fixed it within 30mins though, and he altered the rest of the suit quite well.

Unlined fresco, while being a little scratchy, is perfect for LA weather. It’s not nearly as scratchy as people make it out to be though, and it’s very breathable while still having a nice drape, so I think any new suits will be fresco going forwards.

I like the low vamp loafer/adidas flip flop juxtaposition. LA in a nutshell.

Seeing as Fwiffo is too poor to post food pics now. Seared toro with truffle and garnishing that matches the decor. So kitschy.

My dinner:

* 4 day baby mung bean trees
* 2 day baby quinoa trees

Breakfast earlier:

* 2 day baby chia trees in fermented water

(no pics because l don't know how to post pictures anymore....don't have a photo downloading program)

btw, l really like the baby tree diet, and l nearly had baby lentil trees also today, but l skipped it.
