I was going to suggest that you just start posting your pics directly into the ‘Disagreeable ...’ thread and cut out the middle man but this one is a huge improvement on your recent cacophony of noise pics.

The criticism of the too-similar pattern scales is spot on here and you’d do well to take it on board. I like all three items and the colours work fine but the scale of the shirt check and the tie weave are so close they almost invoke a moire effect. A garza grossa grenadine tie in the same colour, or a pencil striped shirt in the same colours would have elevated this outfit but it’s still much better than previous pics so please continue down this road.

I took them stays off. Hate cardboard like collars. Hate curling points too, but not as much as the stiffness. Freshly ironed every morning though.
Whats with the gorge? Looks too dated? Giacca is from 1991...

The steep angle of the lapel/collar seam makes the jacket look dated IMO.
Also having such a small tie knot looks disproportionate with those full lapels like its being crowded out. Small stuff here, you’re likely still streets ahead of most of the schlubs I see!

You guys are a cute couple.

Back in my day, one would exclaim ''How the 'eff did you end up with such a good looking girlfriend?!'' It was given and received as a compliment. Not sure whether that travels well beyond the north of England, or indeed down the years.

T&A shirt and a non-labelled woollen tie which I picked-up somewhere, but where and when is lost in the mist of time:

One of your best, if not the best

Nice Grandpa steeze.

Thank you good sir. Left the giacca at the tailor today, as it has incredibly square shoulders which caused unsighty divots. He will lower them to fit and since that makes the armhole smaller he will reattach the sleeves with more fullness at the cap, and correct the pitch while he's at it. Major surgery but I trust him.

open heart surgery....how much do you pay for this sort of work? he is going to remove shoulder pad, and then remove the extra fabric at the top of the shoulder, correct? How is that going to affect the armhole? it would make it smaller, yes. but only at the top of the sleeve head and not at the bottom that is where you feel it.

25 euros, actually. I've got shoulder surgery done on my jackets there before with good results. I actually have to do this on the right shoulder of every jacket, as I have a lower one. Yes the armhole becomes smaller at the top, the goal is not to make the armhole smaller really but to remove hollow areas that were there due to the excessive squareness. As a bonus the armhole becomes smaller and maybe, just maybe, more fullness may be given to the sleevehead (my guess is that you'd need not just extra width but also extra height, but since the sleeves need to be shortened too, I asked for a bit of roping if possible when resetting the sleeves)
