What happened today that neither pissed you off nor made you happy but is nevertheless noteworthy?

Thanks for all the fire sale American fruit dumped into clearance bins.

A lady friend of mine wore a sun hat and leaned in for a kiss and I got blocked like President Trump did with his wife at the inauguration. I said you need to get rid of this Trump defence mechanism if you want a kiss.

Converting CAD/USD with no idea what's driving the currencies today...

I wiped my father's mobile phone and rang the carrier to cancel. I will keep his e-mail accounts for a bit because I enrolled him into a Yahoo class action lawsuit and he was also invited to join another one on excessive trading commissions dating back to 2010. Could be 5 figures. Who knows if more money won't knock on his e-mail door.

Was about to cancel my Adobe Creative Cloud subscription and then I found out I have one woman and a friend's daughter actively using it.

“Now, Ms. Lala tells her friends when she’s in her no-spend months as an accountability tactic. Loud budgeting is key: a trend that focuses on saying your financial goals out loud and clearly defining what fits into your budget and what doesn’t.”

Aka I am broke, weren’t you picking up the cheque?

Saw a kid at the bar today. Sitting on a bar stool watching videos on her Switch. Occasionally she had a French fry.

After about 10 minutes her mother the waitress came by to check on her in between runs to the outdoor patio.

I had no issues with a small kid at the bar but my lady friend kept saying something is wrong.

Apparently waiting 2 1/2 years between dentist visits means two one hour sessions of plaque and tartar cleaning. And also I have to be Italian and drink water after my black coffee / espresso / earl grey.

It's 33c today and the air conditioner is under maintenance from 0800-1700. Lovely.

So I got a follow up call with the sleep clinic. Just like the video call, but this time on a telephone call, the assistants did all the triaging and determining the next steps. Then they put me on hold and the doctor joins, says hi, repeats what the prescribed action is in under 15 seconds and then the assistant says the admin staff will ring me to book me.

I think this is how they prep Mahmoud Abbas or Joe Biden.

I have 3 ex staff taking me out this month.

Fan Expo started 30 years ago. All these cosplay people dressed up in superhero and dainty costumes. I never understood not being comfortable in your own skin that you want to be someone else.

Some of them are wearing masks. I don't know if that's a I crave social experience, I'm awkward but I'm also afraid to die.

Then there are these chubby short men dressed as what I take as a cross between Goldilocks and Sailor Moon. My mind wanders to think what happens when all men 18-60 are mobilised. Am I really going into battle with this lot?

Helping my mother change money except she is in agony over every fraction of a penny in the rate. By the time she made up her mind the rates change. Been ringing up all sorts of places including a retail place without any website of rates and you need to bring cash.

It's 19c today. I decided to wear a three piece. What happened to global warming.

Was at the driving range today next to a pair of men talking about their wives/girlfriends, one is pregnant, one had a tough work week their past golf games, and one concluded they are lucky to be men because they don't have to deal with pregnancy and sh@t. And also they are not underpaid and get the best work opportunities.

This was then followed by how they are lucky to be white men and don't have to put up with a lot of sh@t.

Cheers to the white men.

It's Sept 11th.

Shocking how many people on planet Earth weren't even alive that day and can't remember it. Strangely I still remember every hour of that day.

Yesterday my mate was telling me how he was doing business with Aramco and getting Arabs to pay was like pulling teeth.

There are more than a few Korean ladies in our local orchestra whose favourite non classical music is Blackpink.

Good thing I am not waiting for any estate cheques. The postal service is on strike.

I was at the local opera's lunchtime concert today. There was a class of graduate students from my uni performing arias from Mozart's Magic Flute, Don Giovanni, pieces from Haydn and others.

One of the aspiring singers is a trans. A man dressed as a woman. He sang what I assume are male parts. Isn't this one of those professions where being trans makes it hard to figure out how to place you? He clearly needs to go further with his conversion - voice and physique. Can he actually get to alto or soprano with drugs?

Cooked 5 courses yesterday for a lady friend of mine from 1400-1900. I did a few hours prep work the day before so the broth, sauce and rice salad were pre-made.

That's a first for me. I was supposed to do a virtual interview today and the interviewer is on jury duty.

I was on a video call with someone who set me up on his TV in a meeting room. He has one of those cameras that pan to whomever is speaking.

Except he was facing the TV so I saw the side profile of him. I assume from his computer. But when I spoke the camera in the room would point at me so I was literally looking at myself when I was speaking in addition to a picture in picture self view. So confusing.

The Novotel in my neighbourhood already has Christmas decorations up. The pharmacy was playing adverts with a Christmas jingle. It’s 1st of November. Let Halloween die in peace.

I helped my brother move from his one bedroom place to a two bedroom. Then two bedroom to a townhouse. Townhouse to a house.

The good thing is my pulse didn't even push 90. The bad thing is with every move he accumulated more things. He even went from one to two Christmas trees.

Wednesday: E-mailed the family doctor office to ask them to switch the clinic referral closer to my place in the city instead of using the post code in the town on my provincial health card.

Thursday:
8:30 Decided to call family doctor office because I think they killed the ability to e-mail them directly. Lady says she will get me referred to an institution within the city.
11:07 - Clinic calls. I'm with my aunts.
11:17 - Clinic calls again and leaves a voicemail to ring back. Still with my aunts.
13:25 - Clinic calls, no voicemail. Leaving lunch with my aunts.
13:35 - Clinic sends a text message I'm booked for tomorrow at 9:00 AM. If I am a no show, it's a $50 charge. If I want to change less than 48 hours (or for me less than 20 hours), please call.
14:31 - I ring them. Yes you have an appointment in the town. No, I asked to be referred to the city. Oh yes the appointment is at the city. 9:00 AM. There's a fee for no shows and you can't cancel within X hours.

....people must be desperate for public health care money in this clinic.

Nothing like being on a bus after 40 minutes taking rail that will drive 70 plus minutes with 95% uni students.

I'm in the same room as Margaret Atwood.

Had a visit from the landlord yesterday. Always a bit scared they are selling or taking over the unit as primary residence but no it was just to drop off a Christmas gift.

Luckily I went out and bought a pandoro in return.

I just figured out Logan Paul and Jake Paul are two different people.

This woman on the television keeps calling the weather on new year's eve "fresh". It feels fresh outside. Bundle up and it will be okay. Of course she is doing a bit of the emcee for the local new year's countdown later so anything to cover up the fact it is bloody freezing cold.. Or fresh.
