Watched the Dr. Who christmas special. Gotta admit, I really hope they change the tone of the series with the new Dr. This episode was SO boring, and was an exact replica of every Matt Smith episode and special for the past few years.
 
I just watched Downton Abbey. Based on the previews I thought Bates would have been caught again for killing that valet but it was actually some plot to save Edward VIII from yet another adultery scandal. It seemed a little too contrived that somehow Rose bumped into the Prince of Wales at a night club and then the whole chain of events happened.

I wasn't sure how they fit all those people into Grantham house. It looked like pretty much every service staff went down to London and even the living area for the upstairs people looked crowded much less the downstairs one. I thought Paul Giamatti would stand out but he actually kept a relatively low profile in the show. His introduction to the Prince of Wales was comical. How does one like Samson who lives in a squalid flat afford to keep going out in black and white tie?

Lots of great costumes and nobody died this time around although it looks like Ivy is leaving.

I'm afraid the next series is the last one from what I read.

Pretty much sums it up. Carson's facial expressions once again stole the show.
 
Just watched The Bletchley Circle, a 3 part miniseries on women who worked as code breakers during the war and years later get together to solve a Jack The Ripper-style murder. Very good watch.

Well, 2o mins in and its shit. I'm amazed how badly executed it is. The spy dude speaks perfect Serbian with 'a few hours of study'... oh god. And then, when Sherlock is 'unleashed' upon London again, there is this worthless shot of him on a building top in the city. Like, any normal person is going to say 'right, I'm back, and before I get on with it, I'm going to stand up here and stare at nothing for a bit'. I am open minded to the rest of ep 1 but its not starting well... at all.

I was hoping to get your thoughts on the 35 to 40 minute segment, the 45 to 50 minute segment, and the 55 to 60 minute segment before I officially formulated my opinion.

It was lame, end to end. Really disappointed.
 
I just finished watching Akta Manniskor (Real Humans). Its a Sweedish show currently in its second season that's the best Sci-Fi I've seen since Battlestar. HANDS DOWN. If you're into Sci-Fi, and you can deal with subtitles, I cannot recommend this highly enough.

Its based in an alternate reality version of Sweeden where they have robots who live and work beside them. The robots are played by real actors and they're incredibly good at it. But the creator of the robots writes a code that basically gives a few of the robots free will. The story kind of plays out from there.

Seriously fantastic.
 
Also half way through the second season of the Sweedish version of The Bridge (Bron Broen). Season's pretty good so far.

When did this air? Not sure if I recall seeing season 2.

Edit... haven't. Cool. I liked S1. I hope that weird hottie Sana is back.
