What TV Shows Are You Watching?

Caught some of The Saint on Youtube. Never saw it when it first came out. Too young for that. But Mr Moore does a good job and the series is well put together. At least the first few eps are.

Also caught this on Netflix a few months ago. It originally aired on FX or something like that.

It was sorta funny in a corny way. There were parts that dragged....but having a very good looking co-lead is a plus:

-Doctor Foster: Great series. Basically a married couple deals with infidelity. Dr Foster(the wife) , vows to get even!

-The Indian Detective: Sorta funny. Russel Peters is a Canadian slacker "cop" who takes a leave and goes to India to visit his family nd help solve a crime...which is also linked to Canada. Stunning co-star in Mishqah Parthiephal!

-Manhunt: Unibomber: Another good series about the hunt for the Unabomber. Very well done.

Anyone watched SS-GB? I remember reading the book as a kid and was pretty unimpressed

I watched the first two episodes and it was so slow i just gave up on it. Does it pick up?

The first episode was probably the slowest of the whole series.

It does pick up, but it's not going to be like an American show. Still a slow burn.

Let me know if occupied works. I’m a few episodes into Rome and it’s just ok. Sopranos in togas

I'v finished both and both are good. Occupied is about Russian occupation of Norway to keep EU oil flowing. Nobel has political intrigue using Norwegian social forces in Afghanistan as a backdrop

did occupied ever get a second season?

which would you say was better?

yup. second season on now. there will be a third.

I found them both to be really good.
downloading now. i thought occupied s1 was really good. i can never find out how to keep track of these foreign tv shows.

did you watch La Casa De Papel (Money Heist) yet? s1 was really really good.

The HBO sleazy Times Square rise of the US porno industry series The Deuce.

Feels authentic and you sense they've watched the complete series of Kojak as a pointer to vibe of New York at that time.

Season two delves a bit more into the ridiculous but not over the top. Major cliffhanger at the end of season two.

Will check out Casa de Papel.

Next on this list is Billy Bob in Goliath. Classic Billy Bob as a drunken lawyer

I saw the first season. Not a bad show.

BOnus as one of the co-stars, Margarita Levieva is a hottie:

So these 2 original Youtube recs popped up yesterday for me. I watched both. 2 episodes of Sideswiped and 1 episode of Liza on Demand.

Sideswiped is basically a 30 something career woman with a younger/married sis doing the family thing a out of control mom who lives with her. Both the mom and sis are trying to get the sis/daughter to scale back on work a bit and have a little fun in her life. AKA.....meet and hookup with guys on social media.
Eh. Maybe 2.5/5.

Liza on Demand is apparently from a huge Youtube star, Liza Koshy, who I never heard of until yesterday. Her videos have millions of views.
This is basically a show about Liza and her 2 roommates and how she navigates the world of being an internet "on demand" worker for various platforms. She puts together jigsaw puzzles for a wealthy child so he can do other things, bakes cupcakes, etc. I really think this show is funnier than it is.
MAYBE 2/5.

‘ Real Marigold Hotel’ series 3.

Group of pensioners spend a month in India to see if they could retire there.

Selina Scott is the most amenable of the women and has aged better than Susan George. Stephanie Beecham seems like the selfish diva for this series. Mercifully no Miriam Margoylies this time. Bob Champion the former jockey seems down to earth and has never eaten curry. Sid Little and Boris Johnson’s dad are also good entertainment.

I didn't find any of the ladies particularly attractive and I think with all the droopy breasts they were making a statement that this was what it was really like before universal breast implants. Good acting and script though.

I thought that might have potential and will give it a go when it makes it Netflix.

Season 1 of goliath is better than season 2.

The second series of the French spy comedy drama A Very Secret Service is now out on Netflix. Well worth watching, the humour is better than anything that's come out the UK for sometime, unless you class Daniel Bostick and Joseph Paul Watson as comedians.

Yes. Good black and white series. The halo gimmick is memorable too. Patrick McGoohan as ‘Danger man’ was similar vintage and enjoyable at the time.

It was good and there was a couple of series in colour too. Return of the Saint as I vaguely remember it from the late 70s with Ian Ogilvy as Simon Templer had lots of exotic European locations.

have to redownload occupied season 1. i can't remember what the fuck happened its been so long since i watched it.

To be honest i have no idea. Its been so long sonce breaking bad was on.

The one TV show I watch no one else here watches but us?

I'm assuming it was a flashback scene in BB but could have sworn Saul was already a lawyer at the time.

On the 3rd episode of this via Netflix. Kinda funny. Worth a watch. 8 episodes in the series.

A not so good Swedish detective pairs with a bumbling British detective to solve a murder. They skew some of the more serious crime series out there.

At this point(3 eps in).....borderline 4/5. That could drop based on the remaining episodes and ending.

Occupied season 2 is getting a little stale. Up to ep 4 now. Hopefully they can find somewhere to go with this

I am going to miss Quantico and seeing Priyanka Chopra. When the French Palestinian woman was there they were known as the power puff girls. Now some Jonas brother is going to shag Priyanka.

finished strong-ish but its getting a little old with all the political machinations. hopefully season 3 will bring something new.

Aren't the Jonas Brothers Disney stars? So there is a high change that he plays the tough hetero guy while he really enjoys the company of men...
This engagement keeps them both in the headlines and Priyanka might get a new job from that publicity. Then a public break-up and booom, our Fwiffo Fwiffo is back in business and can be a shoulder to cry on.
