What TV Shows Are You Watching?

Finished Running Point Season 2.

I think Justin Theroux's character coming back from rehab created a story arc that drew time from some of the existing cast. For example Fabrizio Guido and Brenda Song get less screen time. Jay Ellis and Kate Hudson's relationship just turns into sex hook ups. Then they added Ray Romano and other than the dead wife thing isn't really getting a lot of development.

At one point Brenda Song goes to work for the Toronto Trappers. I assume this is a play on Raptors. Even though for most of the NBA season the weather in Toronto is miserable, you don't need to film all the indoor scenes with a blue filter to show how depressing it is. We get the sun too!

Watching Legends right now.

The Customs people have that much power? Good pacing. Good story so far. Maybe I am more partial to British shows but it's interesting.

Finished Legends. Maybe no genius plot twists like Line of Duty but thoroughly entertaining. I am still surprised they just let these undercover customs agents rejoin their normal lives without any identity change.

Watching Man on Fire on Netflix. It's like a 24 type of show where you veer just enough to the dark side with torture all in the name of the greater good.

Finished Man on Fire. Yahya Abdul Mateen snaps into special forces mode when he speaks in that slow deliberate pace with a deep baritone voice. Reminds me of Jack Bauer and the gravel growl. Anyway it ends with the good guys winning. Not a single good guy dies. Every bad guy dies as Mateen goes on a rampage all the way up to the Brasilian president. Some painfully. Sometimes he exhibits a nice clemency streak. The part where he has a Russian friend who happens to have a helicopter in Rio to invade a prison was a stretch.

Looks like there is another series.

I caught the final Euphoria ep lastnight. Season 3 really jumped the shark and was unnecessary, but the final ep still did a nice job of tying everything up. Some deaths, some violence and some happyish endings. A long way from the high school drama it started as.

Ripple.... it's like one of those ensemble type shows where all the people are somewhat connected because of a locale or some events. In this case it's a bar. But it's so bloody depressing with people dying, cancer, more people dying, cheating, job loss, past trauma. The few bright spots of the bar uniting everyone like Coronation Street are ultimately outweighed by all the negativity. My life is negative enough I'm not sure I need reinforcement life sometimes sucks.

Ripple?

The Bear S5 just feels like more of the same, without any real character or plot development. Just treading water, like their chaotic restaurant

Finished season 3 for Lidia Poet. The show is done. All the male suitors chasing her was an invention by the show. I didn't know that. But it made for some fun except in the end you knew Matilda De Angelis and Eduardo Scarpetta are supposed to be together. So much so you are screaming at the TV for them to stop the games and just shack up.

How to Get to Heaven from Belfast

This is what happens when you give film and movie credits for productions in Northern Ireland and this somehow gets the green light. It’s supposed to be a dark comedy. It could also be a suspense, thriller or horror. And then you have Roisin Gallagher who is in heat and wants to screw the policeman.

At the end of the series the three protagonist open a box and say they don’t want to go down this route and waste more of their time. Which seems to be my impression.

I didn’t know they made another season of Trying with Rafe Spall. The small kids are grown up now.

Morning Show is getting its last season next year. I sort of gave up on it when Jon Hamm started showing up as Jeff Bezos with hair.

Now that I have AppleTV for awhile I might go back to catch up.

Lucky is watchable and forgettable. ATJ looks kinda hot at times and not at all in the following scene. Her acting is just workman like.

Sugar, oth, is a slow burn winner that blends LA noir and sci-fi beautifully

Jason Sudekis said he didn't believe Ted Lasso would go beyond a 3 season arc...and yet here's season 4!

With his cameo at the World Cup final I'm afraid he's going to end up forever associated with this character.
