Yup. Pretty lightly used given its age. Wore it over a merino base layer and a light fleece for chores tonight and was comfortable at -9 C with a -16 windchill

Yes! Bedale is too iGent for me. And, at any rate, it is way too short to wear over any of my SCs. I was vacillating between a Border and Beaufort. . . But since I already have a longer vintage Hickey Freeman jacket (made out of Loro Piana stormproof cloth), I’ve decided to go for Beaufort, which I consider a little more versatile.

I’ve last worn one of these in high school (it was lost during a move more than a decade ago). Let’s see if I warm up to it again! I’ll probably reproof it upon receipt as well, if I can let go of the sweet distressing.

If I manage it will be a long and painful process anyways so I'd rather have them look good now and for months (or years) to come.

I see no difference in the quality. Workmanship is equal. Fabric for fabric its the same although mainline has more types of fabrics beyond most Workaday which is mainly cottons.

Mainline has more bells and whistles and more complex designs. Mainline also does more tailored shapes.

I'd call Workaday high-end utilitarian rather than a real diffusion line if that makes sense.

To be honest I just got a pair of Visvim chinos and Sophnet cords and the Workaday are as good or better at way lower price point.

I'd recommend Norse Projects too. Really well made. Nice details like a French fly on the chinos and nice fabric. Shit is nicely made.

This is heavily pinned at the back and looks slim but is actually a bit too big for me.
Will get it tailored. It's French bespoke respoke with twenty years on its shoulders. I wanted something to wear all my suit-only ties with.

nice choice. i saw that and would have bought if i didn't already have a virtually identical cloth sitting around (also already have 3 houndstooth jackets). surprisingly lordsuperb has several nice cloths for sale on SF at decent prices (not ebay cheap but less than he paid the manufacturer).

I'd like to see the W.Bill Cashmere book if it does still exist. I've seen some cloths of the book here and there and they are very nice.

I've also have a jacket lenght of W.Bill Lamlana B&W houndstooth sitting in my closet (with maybe a dozen more of jacketings) I think the scale of the houndstooth is different, though. Both jacket lenghts will be unfunded for some seasons as I still have to commission several basic suits before, but I don't mind.

The green Lamlana he also has on sale is very nice.

IMHO the CJ harvard in unlined cordovan is the best-looking penny loafer there is
However unfortunately they do not sell it in black, which is what i need
So the shoes went to the cobbler yesterday and are being worked on right now
