Ask A Quick Question

Can anyone recommend me a brand of leather winter gloves? I got a great deerskin pair with cashmere lining from Kent Wang, but I just I realized that it is essential that I get a pair that have thumb and pointer finger technology that can be used with smartphones.

Also medium brown suede belts?

I don't know if it's possible to get leather gloves that can be used with smartphones.

I know that you can get woollen gloves with fingertip sensors that allow you to use smartphones - HenryC used to carry some and they're pretty ubiquitous in Japan with places like Muji and Loft selling them - but I've never seen leather versions.

Thoughts on the revival of the old windcheater/ sweatshirt?

My initial reaction was pure YUCK! Reminds me of my 1970s and 80s childhood along with running shorts, jumpsuits, leggings and terry-towel headbands and wristbands.

But I do have a couple of long-sleeve t-shirts for winters around the house and maybe wearing under a Harrington occasionally.

I don't know where you're located so not sure if this is convenient for you, but in Britain the obvious choice would be Dent's. The range is huge and they also do a few you can use with smartphones.

Fleece lined £55, cashmere lined £85.

I actually sort of like it. I don't advocate "leisure wear" but where it has to be done 70s / 80s retro stuff is the way to go. I've actually got some of the re-made vintage style Sergio Tacchini track tops, things like that - I don't really wear them any more, but I do secretly think they look quite stylish.

Of course, you run the risk of looking like an 80s English football hooligan.

i prefer teh grey

The grey definitely looks better to me, you get more of a retro feel from it.

Horses for courses. YMMV. My bias. Light grey bothers me. Don't know why. In terms of sweatshirts the retro vibe that it conjurs up is/was that It was what we wore for athletic endeavours, practice and the like. Gives me this mental image where another colour doesn't

Thanks. Impulse buy - just backed the navy sweatshirt for shlepping around this house this winter and perhaps for wear under a tan harrington.
