A Futile and Stupid Gesture: The History of the First Trump Presidency & Q-Anon

You said it was "banana republic" which implies political instability and corruption. Neither is true.

2nd point... you get a guy everyone hates on both sides, usually means he's doing it right. Though he should have put forward charges on Clinton.

They didn't know he was out of the area, which is understandable considering they don't track the guy's every move. They hand delivered the letter to his office in advance.

Judging by the all around dislike for Comey, it might actually be good for morale.

They haven't heard of this new invention called a phone??

This is gold:

"While I greatly appreciate you informing me, on three separate occasions, that I am not under investigation, I nevertheless concur with the judgment of the Department of Justice that you are not able to effectively lead the bureau."

It is banana republic to fire a dude who is in charge of the investigation of you. Banana Republic has nothing to do with instability, though that can be a result. It is lack of rule of law and corruption which undermines institutions.

Comey should have been fired eons ago, to do it now is fucking moronic. You just wasted an assload of political capital and heightened suspicion for absolutely no reason.

People don't not like him because he is doing it right (lol!), it's because he is stepping on his dick every ten seconds and making the FBI and the US Justice system look ridiculous.

Everyone I know at the FBI really liked the guy.

I was never that concerned about his role in the email nonsense, but if he was going to be sacked for it, it shyhave been months ago. Though it's tough when Trump was praising him as the hero for telling the truth about emails while he was campaigning.

Firing him now just looks shonky as hell.

I thought Comey helped Trump get elected. He really should learn not to bite the hand that feeds you.

Also an irrelevant fact. See my post above about the sad NYT article yesterday.

Apparently CNN wants to write a Tom Clancy thriller instead of reporting the news:

A little past 5 p.m. Tuesday, a black Ford Taurus slowed to a stop just outside FBI headquarters in Washington and dispatched a white-haired man in a dark suit.

He emerged from the car alone, a manila folder in his right hand, and walked slowly toward the agency's appointment gate. Passers-by paid little notice.

But Keith Schiller, President Donald Trump's pugnacious former bodyguard who now sits sentry outside the Oval Office doors, was at the law enforcement agency armed with a bombshell message from his longtime boss to FBI Director James Comey: "You are hereby terminated and removed from office."
FBI Director Comey fired: Full coverage

Schiller emerged from the building just short of an hour later, the manila folder gone. By then, the stunning intent of his visit to the FBI was known, and the ramifications of a sitting president firing the man investigating his campaign's ties to Russia were reverberating across Washington.

From the people I've talked to, with the exception of the rogue NY bunch, yes. I don't have much use for the guy, but he apparently engendered loyalty.

The agents out in the field offices all seem to respect him.

The hypocrisy is so astonishing. No wonder this party is so fucked up.

Caddell said the hypocrisy of many Democrats reacting to the Comey firing is “enough to choke a horse.” He pointed out how many, including Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, are already on record as having no confidence in Comey.

many Democrats have criticized the President’s decision — despite having called for Comey’s resignation only a few months ago.

http://www.breitbart.com/big-govern...z-joins-pro-comey-protest-at-the-white-house/

“This is absolutely worse than the Saturday night massacre,” he yelled, referring to Nixon’s decision to fire the Watergate special prosecutor. In response, the crowd shouted, “Worse! Worse! Worse!”

Are those protesters on permanent stand-by? It's amazing how quickly they get their signs ready and organize a protest in relatively short time. Do they show the same enthusiasm at their workplace?

Provided you want commentary and not just straight up AP/Reuters, BB has probably one of the lowest ratios of fake news to legitimate reporting in the US.

Not at all. You asked for facts, I provided them. Not sure you've ever visited Breitbart, you might be one of these people that finds false equivalency with things like Mother Jones.

It is common to provide a secondary source. In order to prove something, one needs multiple corroborating sources. You haven't provided any facts, just circular references. Bad code! Return 1!
