Adventures in Bespoke Tailoring

Ya I know... I asked tasche a patta but he chose to make tasche a toppa. In 6 months between the basted fitting and the finishing of the jacket the info has been lost. Pure neapolitan "lottery" tailoring. This is also the riskiness of trunk shows with long delays. I need rigor. I'll visit master Oreo directly next summer but I fear he'll also do what he wants and considers the best.

True Oreo does what he wants, but what he wants is Correct and Important. Oreo would never put patches on a suit, he wouldn’t even put flaps if you asked. This is more of the risk of using a young trendy tailor making every thing patch for likes of Dyrnylly. Better to use a tailor farmiliar in the ways of old noble gentelman.

You say the Truth.

He delivered me the trouser last summer and I'm sure he forgot the jacket was part of a suit.

I need a rigorous monitoring and respect of deadlines. I can't police the tailor during all the process.

P-S.: to be fair it's the first time I have such a surprise with him.

My first Oreo jacket was ordered with MOP buttons (provided by me) and unlined. The Master kept the buttons for himself but gave me full lining in the jacket. Fair deal I guess.

he spotted you were a spanish rookie heavily influenced by instagram and decided you needed some help

Freed like Nelson Mandela. It is the true.

I've found where he's been sleeping during his exile

The ConchitaWurst ConchitaWurst has been freed!

Freed like Nelson Mandela. It is the true.

One man’s terrorist is another’s freedom fighter, as they say. Welcome back, ConchitaWurst ConchitaWurst , valiant liberator!

Heshe hasn't been banned. Heshe was just taking a shower between hisher two favorites.

A week in the cooler with avatar intact is not a bad badge of honour.

thanks for the warm welcome back guys!

Actually, flaps he doesn't mind.

He wouldn't make an unlined wool jacket because it would stick to your shirt. But he has a really light lining, very breathable (also see-through when held against light).

perhaps. it's already pad stitched though.
the roll is nice anyways so it doesn't look like the lack of bridle (if it's really not there) is causing much trouble. I was just wondering because I might go ahead and make a lapeled vest and the bridle is one of the things that I don't fully grasp yet.

I see they did put the bridle!
I asked because most times I see the tape is pad stitched together with the canvas.

verri anderson and sheppard, that shoulder seam
I wonder what the benefits are, as it would seem not to follow the contours of the shoulder line accurately. I've seen this discussed before. Perhaps Scherensammler can chime in

Now that you mention it, many British tailors seem to cut a lower shoulder seem. Mine included. I think it's done to to follow the line of the chipped shoulder, i.e. have the seem meet the shoulder at the high point of the armscye thingy. Anyway, looks topissimo. Nice and solid, and down with degenerate floppy spallas camicias.

You mean the great Crooked vs Straight shoulder debates?
