Quick translation for non-German speaking folk:
As a rough guide (changes due to style and needed inlays are very likely):

Version 1: chest + waist + trouser length = normal cloth length
Version 2: chest + seat + trouser length = generous cloth length
Version 3: (chest + waist + jacket length + waist coat length + trouser length + inseam length + seat) divided by 2 = exact cloth length

Wider pattern pieces require a change of the layout on the cloth. For longer pieces you can use the same layout as for normal ones.

He is now. Casino Royale and QoS has some decent kit but the recent combination of costume designer and Tom Ford sausage skins is rank. Fiennes is a crap actor. He’s OK as M cos he doesn’t have much to do. His Timothy Everest suits are streets ahead of Craig’s.

Fiennes managed to get into the film industry though his uncle's connections, and for the swoon factor. Otherwise, he's shite. The James Bond franchise is shite. People who write disquisitions on James Bond are shite. People who analyse James Bond's suits, as if James Bond\s suits were not essentially off-the-rack creations by shite designers, are shite. Hell, even MI6 is shite. ISIS and China are running circles round them.

The same could be said about Oliver Reed, but nobody held that against him.

The James Bond franchise was the ultimate in the spy caper film with multiple exotic locations that had it's era in the 60s and 70s. Now that global travel is no longer exotic or that colourful, that franchse seems lost to me. It's lost the humour, substituted stunts for computerized graphics and now we have a drab bond who's more council house than educated Naval Commander.

I agree though, there's better spies out there:

People nowadays seem to forget that in the 60's and 70's going to a bespoke tailor was a much more common thing than today.
And yes, Daniel Craig looks shite in his Tom Ford suits, but that is mostly Tom Ford's fault. He may be good at marketing, but he obviously knows little about tailoring and a good fit. How can you comfortably save the world when you have to worry about your jacket buttons flying off or your seat seam ripping open when leaning forward?

IIRC, James Bond wears suits only on a few occasions in his films. Mostly when meeting M and/ or at social events. Most of the time he wears more casual/ stealth/ combat related garments, diving/ swimming gear or nothing at all.
The suit part is only a big thing because it's kind of disappearing in our days.
