Agreeable Menswear Post Of The Day

Urbancompo has gone for that late 40s/early 50s Italian look. Got it pretty bang on tbf. 500g pants in the Italian summer though. Phew.

I wonder if trousers are going to go that baggy over the next couple of years? Not in my wardrobe, that is for sure.
Baggy trousers are only okay in the song.

I have about 10 suits that need the trousers being made less baggy for my preference now. Should I leave them and be "on trend '. I don't think so.

But when I had them made around 1998 they were what I wanted. There's nowt as queer as folk.

No one is happier to see the death of low waisted trousers than me, but I think the pendulum is going too far the other direction now. When your beltline hits at the top of your three button jacket

Thats not a belt Pimp, thats the extended waist closure. Either the buttons fell off or, he's not done it up to pretend he's going for the sack of shit look after realising his pants have totally lost their shape.

Belt penor is the new tie penor.
That looks ridiculous

I love the jacket. Actually I like all the pieces, just not together.

Spot on in all aspects of your appraisal.

Great colour combination, bold but not flashy, nice cut and fit, classic brown plaid cloth and grey flannel with the little extravagance of the denim: what's so ridiculous about it?
The cut and fit is terrible and makes the dude look like a midget in oversized clothes.

TBF if your constantly "playing" with clothes and don't want to settle into your "house" style your not going to get everything right. While everyones tastes change over time not many men change their looks at such an extreme rate. Personally I don't feel the need to reinvent myself like that. From rugged biker to Cuban playboy to snazzy Italian to the 50s and back in a week isn't for everyone. Though I do enjoy his Instragram account. Its rare that I think he looks bad but his constant image changing seems to have led him to the extreme of a fashionable look, at least over the Pitti weekend, (jackets have gotten longer, pants higher and their getting wider) which as we all know rarely ends well.

I'm sure he'll be in attire that I'll think looks great by the end of the month. You can't be all things to all men all the time.

As Thruth Thruth said earlier, it’s mostly cosplay for Zotto. Maybe there is an element of it in all of us and it need not be a bad thing, but he is basically a grown man playing dress-ups. Seems like a nice guy and it’s a harmless hobby, which entertains the rest of us.

The denim shirt collar makes it look like he is a no-neck

This style was not only typical in Italy, but in the whole western world, as seen in many Hollywood movies.

Here on Cary Grant, a great style icon:

If some trousers may look a little too baggy, they're still hundred times better than the skinny ones often seen on iGents and in the streetwear today.

There's a new Cary Grant biography I've just bought in hard back.

He picked out a name from a telephone book and became him. How cool is that?

Can't fault him really Pimp...

I like the full break. It simply looks better on taller gentlemen. I see way too much no break by igentry trying too hard to show off their socks.

It's nice, but why did that guy wear it that way, with the internal button fastened and the external not, is questionable, as well as the tie worn outside. Silly sprezzatura?
Perhaps it was windy. Perhaps he broke wind. All in all, that’s an agreeable outfit, weather (or gas) notwithstanding.

Nicely proportionate trousers with high rise and right width. Classic short coat (Bridge Coat) with oversized lapel. Altogether a relaxed, agreeable look.

Overlooking the ugly bracelets I love here the matching of the discreet, muted tones of the jacket's chequered cloth and the beautifully intense blue of the shirt. Not a fan of the paisley pattern, but the tie colour is the right balance.

Interesting as I think he looks like shit.
I'm with you. Jarring. Poor choice of poser blue, tie is discordant. PS especially with the light blue looks out of place. Jacket in and of itself is nice. I have no issue with the tie itself either. Unbuttoned collar button pushes this into poser realm too.

Once again we have discordant opinions. I'm getting accustomed to it and even liking it.
