Ask A Quick Question

I went to a private boys school where graduating from shorts to long pants was a major rite of passage. Add that to a style preference for boots (whether dress or combat) and I haven't ever worn shorts when not on a yacht, playing sport or lounging around the house.

That said, I was as thinking about getting some deck shoes this summer for wear with shorts since I live in the sweaty crotch of America.

Possibly something like these RMWs:

Mate, by all means buy those if you want, but they would not be considered boat shoes by anyone on account of having fucking massive lug soles.

Monkeyface Monkeyface surely boat shoes acceptable with shorts.

I'd say unlined loafers, boat shoes, espadrilles all good with shorts.

Who is recommended in Rome, I can't find much using search only criticisms!
No idea about Celentano and his prices.

Battistoni is hugely popular but I think it's overpriced from what I heard. You could also look into Gorgone Charlot.

Any one on this forum with experience at these places?

Thruth Thruth

Any suggestions for rugged or distressed looking belts? I have a dark brown bridle leather belt with a nickel buckle, but am looking for something perhaps a little more stylized and interesting.

What am I, chopped liver? Does it have to be used on a farm before you get it?

Apologies. Once you get over your hurt feelings would you please offer some suggestions?
it'll take a few hours. do you have any examples of what you mean by "stylized and interesting" that I can ponder whilst I soothe my wounds?

Is a man an igent when he sees a shoo made by one maker and decides to have it made by another maker - because of cost or hubris - and enlists other men, usually strangers or ifriends to participate so the MTO fee is waived?

Does this practice exist in the non-interwebz world?

Oh, oh and will come up with a sexy name for the shoo which is a mix of the original shoo and the new maker.

Like a Vass Galway = Valway
Or a Carlos Santos Galway = Calway

Is this a GayWay practiced only be men on Menswear forums?

I don't know but deliberately and repeatedly mis-spelling the word 'shoe' certainly marks one out to be a complete fucking prat regardless of whether or not he decides to indulge in such an adventure.

Why? It's not big or clever, it's fucking asinine.

Olololo. Settle the fuck down. Read. Pay attention. Learn the vernacular and why it is used. Just don't jet in every couple of months and shit spray all over the place.

The biggest shooman around is a member here. Top Top shooman. It is out of respect for The Shooman's shoomanship that I spelled it the way he likes it.

But I am more interested in the answer to the question.

Whenever I see this on here, along with the likes of the current 'TOPTOP' trope, it makes me think that there are just a big a set of sackless wankers on this board as there are on SF with their 'pents' and 'Tasseks'.

Doing this doesn't give you entree to some sort of in-the-know superior clique or make you look like you are part of a witty and humorous group with inside jokes, it just makes you come off as a sad fucker.

So why doesn't everybody just collectively knock this shit on the head right now, otherwise carry on becoming a very parody of the kind of behaviour I was under the impression that this board was set up to lambast.

olololololol

Polo shirts? Summer is fast approaching and I am thinking about buying some Pima cotton polos for the casual days

The M12 is measured in real chest size, vrs the others which are S, M, L.

They fit slim, so go with your actual jacket size. I wear a 40.

If I have time to do some laundry today I can snap one. Fit is slim and tapered, with slim arms. Ideal muscle show-off shirt, while still fitting the shoulders. Some people complain that they are too long, but I disagree. Though I have a long trunk and appreciate a longer shirt for concealed carry.

I like slim. Long is fine, I can tuck. I don't like Lacoste polos, because they are too short.

I have 44 chest. Should I get 44 or 42. I am afraid 42 might be too tight, but I don't want billowing waist.

I know Hawaiian shirts are supposed to be baggy, but does anyone make a slim version? A little loud would be ok, but not too feminine floral.

Go vintage. Should be easy in USA.

They should hang pretty straight from shoulders - not be form fitting.

Make or break for me is pattern matching on pocket.
You want sleeves to elbow not silly short ones.
Nice to have a bit of an attempt at pattern matching on placket/buttoning front. Nice to have coconut buttons.
If its too long its easy enough to get it taken up a bit. Nice to have a split each side and back about an 1" lower than front

You will promise never ever to tuck it in - won't you.

Not exactly Hawaiian shirts, but loads of brands have patterned/floral shirts for the summer collection this year, mostly with camp collars too. Just browse mrporter to get an idea.
