Ask A Quick Question

Lyliak hirak cardigan or something like that. I got a nice cardigan from them a couple of years ago for 50 americans.

But the relative value of replica baby yak wool sweaters with necklines just north of the nipple line made by homeless artisans rival or even surpass the quality of CCP - but from only Septemver 2009 to March 2010 -
but why buy them as you soon will be crushed by the elites and theirnprivate police forces who will destroy you sweater by slowly pulling it apart while a baby yak cries in the distance as it is naked and cold.

CCP?

I've always like NATO straps and until the last year I never saw anyone else with them here. I had to buy them from o/s online. Cost less than a cup of coffee each and I'd buy half a dozen at a time. Now every idiot is wearing them and I have to endure people assuming I'm trying to be au caurant.

I found a seersucker suit I like 79 wool, 20 silk, 1 elastane but I'm afraid the silk would make the suit shiny in sunlight. Anyone have experience with this mix percentage and whether my fears are legitimate?

Always tough to tell with specific blends. You really just need to try and field test it if possible.

^ this. Think of a wool silk blend tie or pocketsquare. It is not shiny at all.

Of course the suit could be shinier than shit too. Doubtful but possible.

I have never seen seersucker in anything but cotton. Do you have photos LelandJ LelandJ ?

here is an 80 wool 19 silk 1 spandex Isaia

When you just need a pressing as opposed to dry cleaning, how do you specify it? I often just bring a suit in just because the trouser crease needs to be pressed. Do you pay the same price? Go to the same place? My tailor would probably press my shit if asked but want some opinions first....

For what Pauly? Dry cleaner for dry cleaning (located in my building), tailor for alterations, etc. if that answers your question.

I have always just specified pressing and NO DRY CLEANING in the past (yes I yell and wave my arms to make my point) I can't remember the price difference.

Dry clean. If you go to a local cleaner who knows you well, you can ask for exactly what you would like done (dry clean vs. laundered vs. pressing) and trust that they will do what you asked for.

I have recently started going to a local dry cleaner who uses silicone as the solvent. It is a bit expensive, but from what I can notice, the clothes aren't as dull once they are finished.

Thanks gents. Not sure my local will get this right. Will ask tomorrow. I'll ask my tailor next time I go for an alteration, but like most talented people, he is a snot about doing the basic stuff and I am sure he'll bitch about this.

Hey Fwiffo Fwiffo , have you ever been in Rego Bespoke Clothiers in the Stock Exchange Tower on King St. west? JM Weston Shoes lists them as the only Canadian stockist and I wondered what kind of selection they have.

I walk by pretty much every day. It's across from Earl's and next to First Canadian Place.

Is there something you're looking for or want me to pick up? Do I go in and take random photographs?

If you would be so kind to pop in and see if they stock any boots or if they have to be ordered and the price, specifically the classic Chelsea 705 and the Jodhpurs 722. i'd have to come to Toronto to get fitted for size but was just wondering what they carried.

you might want to check out their suits. i have no idea of their quality but they advertise "tailor made suits" for $999.00 and custom shirts as well. most likely MTM despite the "bespoke" in their name.

Okay mate. I was a bit tied up today but I'll drop by tomorrow.

Is it acceptable to wear Black Shirt/polo with brown shoes (grey/taupe pants)? Serious question is serious.

IMO no. If I have black anywhere in an outfit I can't wear brown shoes. That includes a black/white houndstooth for an example, or glen plaid. I may be a bit more extreme than most in this.

I am the same way, hence why I ask. I can't stand the look of black vs brown. Its fucking awful

I knew there was a reason I liked you. That and your love of guns and rum. It overcomes the fact that you are Venezuelan.

How about my taste for latina women? I won't post photos, I'm too damn ugly. I don't want to scare anyone with my looks.

No rush and thanks very much

I actually copied your post and printed it out. Basically, they said they don't keep any in stock. They order from the New York store. He didn't seem interested in ordering any for fittings and suggested ordering directly from the New York store because it's "cheaper". So I didn't get any prices - unless you want me to go back again.

thanks for that. clearly they are uninterested in selling such a boot very badly. not sure how it could be cheaper when it will get dinged with duties coming from New York and the current exchange rate. Might call them and ask.

Did you check out their suits?

is this the end?

We are concentrating on the presales right now. In particular, we are looking to expand our GMTO (Styleforum's version of FUBU) program, particularly for those brands that are not well represented by our affiliates. For example, we would not do Edward Green since Skoatiebolaget already does a great job, at a great price. Instead, we would concentrate on makers who we could benefit, and who could benefit from us ordering out of the usual production season - thus extending their earnings.

We've done a really nice job with Viberg (paging @rydenfan), have most of the logistical kinks worked out, and I'm stoked to start with other vendors as well. For vendors who already have a strong representative on Styleforum, we'll seek to make the affiliate vendor a partner. Everyone profits. We profit, the brand gets more exposure and sales, and the affilaite vendor has an opportunity to get some extra sales with a much lower risk. Since it is GMTO, we have payment upfront, and we know what it is that people really want (as in, people are committed enough to buy/lay down a deposit) and can buy accordingly. By having an affiliate vendor aboard, we can offer more GMTOs and more styles, since Styleforum would not have to put as much money up front, since those costs would be split.

Sample sales are a logistical nightmare, and the margins are so slim, that we often lose money on a sale. The problems are that there are too many individual SKUs, and since the customers are both price driven and fairly picky, the overhead is really, really, high, compared to the revenue. I have been looking at the numbers, and unless we were working on the scale of like, Shop the Fiinest, it's not feasible, especially in this day when anyone can have a webshop.
