I like how that man dresses. By the way I see that tendency for old and worn jacket lapels to roll to the bottom button once again...

hence the beauty of a well made hard 3 button that will with age eventually roll to 2. I have an old 3roll2 that rolled to 1, not as nice.
 
My respoke A&S does it too, but it's a 2 button which rolled to one, so not really desirable. Don't know if a tailor can fix it by pressing since there are probably many things involved (old canvas, stretched pad stitching or whatever)

The gentleman is a legend: he doesn't take himself too seriously and is enamoured with the golden age train travel. Don't like the tan brogues and cords though. The rest I like it.
 
Yup, I remember him from my SF days. At first I disliked the huge trousers but since then my preference has shifted towards baggy trousers myself, so it grew on me...

Fuller cut is fine but with his, you could put Leitmotif in there with him and still have tons of ball space

He has style and in abundance, what's not to like?

I like those pants too, but the vagaries of fashion mean that silhouette needs another 40 years before becoming acceptable again. The Brooks Brothers Clark and Elliot fit chinos and trousers are my good to go fit wise....unless I want to draw attention to some splendid shoes, in which case I go for a more mainstream fit tighter fit in the leg.
 
Yes, that sort of pant is not exactly en vogue right now. Still for fat chaps like me they work well. Luckily enough, standard department store "classic" old man trousers are not that far off.
