Disagreeable Menswear Post Of The Day

Crompton does not seem to know how to get better clothing for the big ticket prices.

OK he is not a male model, but all the bespoke stuff should make a difference - or else why bother.

He is starting to look similar to Prince William, when he should be aiming to look as well dressed as the Prince of Wales.

He gets a lot of replies on his blog though. He cannot write all of them himself, so some people are interested enough to respond.
For five grand I would expect to have the gravitas and distinguished air of the man who broke the bank at Monte Carlo.

What you see is all sickly sweet earnestness lacking all gravitas. I could walk into Oger, or some other similar establishment and come out looking like that with RTW or MTM for about a grand. It doesn't even look English, just another Brit in search of that continental vibe.
I always thought that the over-suppression in the back was done by his eyetalian tailors, but I'm starting to think that he demanded that, since all his jackets have it. Perhaps his first continental tailor did it and he thought it is cool to show your physical shortcomings.

All interesting points but the are lost on most who frequent his blog. He has been successful in channeling his avocation into a vocation. He gets what he wants. He gets the comments he wants. He tries to dissuade suppress any negative discourse like the above because it is really about his brand and its link to the uninformed.

Not everyone is buying into his marketing BS. There were quite a few informed comments on IG and his blog.
It's quite eye opening to read his responses. I don't think he has a particularly deep understanding of the tailoring processes. So all his photo shoots are just that: Go in, put a fitting on, take a few nice, hq images and bugger off.
I wonder, however, how many of the clicks he is getting are real potential customers for the companies he is shilling for.
Not to mention that he'll soon run out of places to go to and get free stuff that will generate interest.
There are only so many times where you can praise tailor XYZ before it gets boring.

The thruth has been said.

I agree with you. The number of dissenters has gone up over time but there doesn't seem to be any traction. It is doubtful that the viewers are potential A&S or other makers of his commissions. But it is the clicks that count.

I'm sure he blocks/ deletes a lot of negative comments.

I used to never wear denim, but I am actually starting to get pretty fond of mixing a suit jacket with a pair of jeans.

What do y'all think?

Aah come on this is not a bad look at all. Not exactly ground breaking but a long way ahead of his unfortunate venture into bath robes, and a long way ahead of the SF cosplay gang.

disagreeable for his typical dipshit expression. Neither great nor ugly. Average. I am not sure why he needs the jacket with his chinos.

Fashion advice would be to take off the farken hat when you're inside you ill-mannered uncouth cretin. Lose the gut as the best way to improve any outfit is not have that poking out over your belt making you look like a schlub. Pig in a top hat and all that.

Some further advice would be to avoid going within several hundred feet of a school to avoid getting arrested for violating the conditions of his parole.

This might be a good place to start.

Hulllo chaps. I'm back. Lost my account details and what have you.

I'm the bloke spraypainting most of the negative comments on Crompers' mansion. Because I'm a jaundiced old bastard. And because men's so-called sartorialism has been turned into a parade of precious peacocks and something must be done.

In other news, Luca Rubinacci got married. I think we should send our heartfelt congratulations.

Steven Hawking always had a derpy look in his face. ijs

No one is confusing MossRocks for Stephen Hawking except in the derpy-looking face department.

MossRocks has stumpy legs. Hawking had squishy legs and erratic inside leg measurements.

You didn't change your skin game I suppose?

the idea that such an extreme level of padding (or any padding) is necessary to construct this type of shoulder is absurd. i have a DB suit which has a similar style shoulder with absolutely no padding, granted it is less extereme. All is done with cutting, canvas, iron and wadding at the sleeve head.

here is a more extreme example, not me, from the same tailor, also with no padding :
