Harrington Jackets

Pedro Pascal leaning into some Dadcore, for a change. Generally, I think the traditional Harrington collar is too big to pop unless you are in a real rain or wind storm. That’s a big part of the appeal of the Tom Ford variant, that narrows to a single button at the front.

Not really a Harrington jacket at all, but I’m not sure it deserves its own thread. I found this cool Japanese repro of the McGregor Antifreeze jacket worn by James Dean in Rebel Without A Cause:

I’ve owned a few red Harrington jackets to try to get a similar look without the blouson, shiny look of the original.

And the best replica was by The Real McCoy in Japan (though made in the US, according to the tag). These sold for around $600. It is a super cool repro but at the end of the day, unless you’re James Dean, you’re just some weirdo in a shiny red jacket.

I kind of like that seersucker harrington - it's certainly interesting. I don't really see when you'd wear it though. It probably wears too cool to be a serious jacket, and when it's warm enough to wear it, it's so warm that you don't need it. Also, it probably won't keep the rain out.
