I have got some cedar balls, but those are just conkers. We've got a tree in the garden and I was told by a tailor that conkers are good for keeping moths away. I've been collecting a load for him as well each year for the past couple of years - he does the same thing and puts a few in each suit cover for his own suits.

But it does gives me a strategic high ground position to pick off marauders & morroqians sneaking up from the East.

Arch rib house - very barn like - so those are the exposed Douglas Fir ribs that hold up the house. They were all drywalled up throughout the house. Damn shame. Have exposed many of them now.

Most of these are unshirts from T M Lewin and Tyrwhitt.

These are also unshirts, mostly made by English and Portuguese profinators, but some slightly better stuff than the unshirts in the first picture. Some from Pink, a few from Duchamp, a couple from T&A and Harvie & Hudson, and a couple from Budd (the best shirts I own).

I re-arrange it like once a month. When I get stressed I think "at least I can control my closet."

Jeans and casual stuff is in a wardrobe not pictured but my game is very weak on that side. Basically I am wearing tshirts on the weekend.

I wouldnt trust a cleaning lady! Thruth got it right....I am very OCD. And I just finished ironing so everything is in place except for a few blue shirts and a few items at tailor and dry cleaner. Everything is properly sleeved and in the order I am going with for now. I will count it all three times and then I may retire for the night.

Excellent, but I am full of questions. How do you guard against infestations and creepy crawlies? What about temperature? How do you ensure that damp does not enter from beneath? The condition of the roof suggestions that the ingress of water from above cannot be reliably prevented - is this so?

This appears at first glance to be a fine idea, but I am full of foreboding.

Excellent, but I am full of questions.

I may have misled. Inside are not rows of hung clothes. Little House o'Duds is a gathering place for trunks, tubs and boxes of clothing that come with being a certain age. Mine. Clean, well-packed with desiccant, cedar where necessary, tissue paper often, individual plastic storage bags with many, shoes in their own air tight containers and so on. Still, it does not resemble a closet as much as a baggage car on a choo-choo. This is an ongoing project. One hope is to run a pole under the ridge (for 14', the length of the building) and actually hang (maybe 28) suits from there, neccessitating a stepped arrangement to reach. What stuff currently hangs (none in there) are in garment bags in the barn and attic looking very much like your stuff, Crisp (nice bags those). I've had no problem with mothing.

There are windows in each of the four walls. I have removed all but one. The windows, not the openings. Working shutters and screens replace them. The shutters are seldom closed, even in winter. Ambient air continually blows through. This was as close as I could get to hanging my stuff on tree limbs. Whatever the temperature is outside is what the temperature is inside. All my stuff smells like whatever Julie Andrews is wearing in the Sound of Music. Fresh. Or will when I get my shit out of the trunks. I will update this with process pics and illuminating text anon, whenever that is.

You can get cedar balls at Walmart. There are also packs of cedar rings, cedar blocks (with/without a hanger) that you can find locally at the Bay and Bed Bath and Beyond, Home Hardware and Lowes. Or just go to a lumber yard and get some 1x2 cedar and make your own blocks

Doesn't need a saw. Do part of what Thruth said, the part about going to Lowe's or Home Depot. Get a bundle of low-grade cedar shingles for around $20. They split by hand and there are enough in a bundle to do the closet of everybody on your street. If you live on one.
