you'll fit in just fine. start here and ask lots of questions when you need help:I stumbled across this website after searching for a place to vent my rage for Luca Rubinacci (though atleast he has the decency not to wear checks on checks on checks like some people on SF), but also needed somewhere to flee from the elitists of SF and the atrocious tips given on AAAAAAAAAAc.
Now, about me, I'm a 19 year old uni student from Italy, both sides of my family have always dressed reasonably well, one of my grandfathers routinely got his clothes from Naples back when Italy was still recovering from WWII, my grandmother was a tailor (mostly for women) and my father has atleast 40 different suits (practically none of them fit me at 194 cm and 90 kg). However I dressed like poop until now mostly for 2 reasons:
1) I was a huge fatass and was most comfortable in hoodies and the like;
2) Despite my father having such a huge wardrobe, due to various reasons, including medical ones, he cannot dress that well anymore and classic style is a taboo topic with him, so all I know about fabrics, patterns, or anything regarding menswear comes from me browsing the web and reading Flusser.
I am very much a beginner, willing to learn and improve. Is this the right place? Only time will tell, however, having read some of the stickied threads I can say that some of you seem like a bunch of crazy people with an almost imperscrutable lingo, therefore I like you already. I need to catch up on the various great personalities here, I guess. Reading SartodiNapoli gave me headaches.

thanks for letting me know about that. i fixed the link. Thanks Rambo, those were the posts I was referencing to.
BTW the "SF behind the veil"does not work anymore.
Is this where they make menswear great again?
So, you're the sartorial bad boys forum then?
I'm a fan of the now dead SartodiNapoli. Period.

probably, we will show you. right up my alley, heheSo, you're the sartorial bad boys forum then?
well said. grats.... his passion for White Europe had something refreshing in this time of decadency and politically correct.
No. just passing on knee-jerk reactions from other forum people who pop by to lurk for a minute or two.
Anyone who follows my social media or forum posts knows that I know many of the owners of the better menswear retailers, traveling tailors and trunk show brands from being a long-time customer. I share my personal experience on my IG, Tumblr and sometimes on SF. Khaki's of Carmel is just one of many retailers I know very well. We visit Carmel regularly so I've shopped at Jim and Connie since the mid-90's and have always had excellent service. So, no BS. Straight talk.so you are a top shiller? khakis of carmel and some other bullshit, right?

As a long time follower of the forums and social media I can say with absolute certainty that you are a shill. Why not Just reveal the commercial nature of your relationship. Only an idiot would think you pay full retail at Tackys of Carmel. No bs. Straight talk.
Please tell me, what is the commercial relationship that I have? If anyone ever gave me anything to review (only a few times) I mentioned it. But I haven't written a review of anyones clothing for a number of years.
How would I know the exact nature of your commercial relationships? I haven't hacked your email account yet. It is your prerogative whether or not to reveal such things. But based on your posts over the years, I think it is safe to say you do not pay retail at most of the brands and/or stores you regularly endorse. Perhaps they are even clients of your retail consulting business. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a mental midget. And you look like even a bigger fool for trying to keep it a secret. Everyone knows Gus, everyone.
I pay full price if it's something I really want right away and wait for sales and specials just like anyone else. I know SA's at most of the major retailers since I'm a long-time customer and they are glad to notify me of upcoming sales and hold things for me at the sales price. It is the same treatment they give any good customer.
I can afford to buy what I want and I have the time to write or post on social media. I don't need to be anyone's paid shill. I simply post about what I like, what I own and what I wear. I'm glad to promote the retailers, brands, tailors and trunk shows that I enjoy and where I've had a positive experience. I've learned a lot from the various forums and social media when others have shared their experiences and I enjoy sharing mine.
FTFY.It is the same treatment they give any friend-customer
