MLB 2016

Grienke to the Diamondbacks for 6 years and a warehouse full of 20's.

Definitely didn't see that coming.

The Diamondbacks or the crazy money? Expected the stupid money to be thrown around

the Diamondbacks. when you really think about it though, Pollack and Goldschmidt are better offensive players than anyone on the Dodgers by a WIDE margin.

Dodgers get Chapman for two worthless prospects. I don't really understand this move from either side. What are the Dodgers going to do with 2 closers? Why did Jocketty and the Reds wait ALL this time to trade their most valuable asset for this garbage?

Yankees trade a pu-pu platter for Aroldis Chapman. Assuming he doesn't get the axe from MLB for punching the shit out of his wife, this could be a bargain trade.

StubHub, Trost differ on Yanks’ new policy

“The problem below market at a certain point is that if you buy a ticket in a very premium location and pay a substantial amount of money. It’s not that we don’t want that fan to sell it, but that fan is sitting there having paid a substantial amount of money for a ticket and [another] fan picks it up for a buck-and-a-half and sits there, and it’s frustrating to the purchaser of the full amount.”

Trost then added a comment that raised eyebrows on social media because of its seemingly elitist undertones. “And quite frankly,” he said, “the fan may be someone who has never sat in a premium location. So that’s a frustration to our existing fan base.”

Can't have those poors mixing in with the rest of us upstanding folk.

The Goose comin with the high heater

Gossage rips Bautista, 'nerds' ruining baseball

Can't disagree with this though:

On a separate subject, Gossage, 64, said he does not like the trend in baseball to have people who never played at the highest level running the game.

"The game is becoming a freaking joke because of the nerds who are running it. I'll tell you what has happened, these guys played Rotisserie baseball at Harvard or wherever the f--- they went and they thought they figured the f---ing game out. They don't know s---."

"I'll tell you what has happened, these guys played rotisserie baseball at Harvard or wherever the f--- they went and they thought they figured the f---ing game out. They don't know s---.

"A bunch of f---ing nerds running the game. You can't slide into second base. You can't take out the f---ing catcher because [Buster] Posey was in the wrong position and they are going to change all the rules. You can't pitch inside anymore. I'd like to knock some of these f---ers on their ass and see how they would do against pitchers in the old days."

"Ryan Braun is a f---ing steroid user. He gets a standing ovation on Opening Day in Milwaukee. How do you explain that to your kid after throwing people under the bus and lying through his f---ing teeth? They don't have anyone passing the f---ing torch to these people.

"If I had acted like that, you don't go in that f---ing dugout. There are going to be 20 f---ing guys waiting for you."

very much looking forward to seeing what fruitcakes come out of the woodwork for those games.
I'm sure it will be glorious.

Of course both the Yanks and Sox can't even start the season on time.

The Jays started. And they're in the same division. What's that mean yea?

They have a roof

First game was in Tampa which somehow I think is near Rambo.

Anyway, I will give up hope going to the restaurant for folks who aren't posh enough to have a box or be invited to one for my annual game of the year. I'm sure every game will be sold out this season including against the Rays.

Well Tampa has a roof too, so I lucked into being correct.

So the Jays aren't doing so well. The Delta/Marriott hotel across the street from my flat decided to start competing with the hot dog vendors. They have a BBQ out on their patio and are selling sausages for $5 (this is from a place that will sell you a whole chicken for $20 takeaway). The traditional vendors bellow to attract customers. These folks use a megaphone. Thankfully my flat faces away from them.

It's amazingly insane how much of a douchebag both Drew and his subject matter can be at exactly the same time. Almost inconceivable.

Meanwhile, I watched the Sox Os game until the fifth inning last night, which looking at the box score was fortuitous.

Normally I'd agree, but in this case I thought it was TOTALLY warranted. What a ridiculous piece by Keown.

The O's apparently are going undefeated.

Of course it was warranted, I said both he and his subject are douches simultaneously. The reason he's an idiot in this case though is LaRoche isn't an average ball player, he is clearly a shitload dumber than average. Like painfully dumber.

I finally figured out why there are daytime games during the weekday. That said, don't basketball teams also run into the same issues? The Jays and Red Sox are playing at 11am today. That's barely enough time for corporate boxes to open up the booze.

Apparently it's the first time the Jays got swept at home since 2013. What happened to this supposed championship run.

Best thing about baseball. The season is infinity days long.

RA Dickey apparently won one...

Oh I was right, only his second win this season.

I'm not sure what people expect out of him. He has had 1 good season ever. The rest of the time he is has been a .500 pitcher. He's had 8 starts, 2 no decisions & is 2-4. Just about right

You follow baseball?

He was placed immediately at the front of the pitching rotation so I reckon much was expected of him.

I'm just wondering if I'll be able to get my annual game in with my mate this year. I really don't want to sit with the proletariat and have to get my own drinks.
