MLB 2025

You are in the minority according to dodgy local "media":

"On MLB.com, about two-thirds of their writers said that the Yankees will prevail against the Blue Jays, despite being the lower seed.

A panel of five CBS Sports writers all unanimously picked the Yankees to beat the Jays, although all of their writers said the series would go to a decisive Game 5.

There wasn't much love for the Jays over at ESPN either. Their contributors pointed to the fact that the Yankees' run differential of +167 dwarfed the Jays' total of +77."

Maybe I don't watch baseball often in the 2020s but these scores are very high no? Double digits when added together.

That Judge home run might have saved the Yankees season. We’ll see if they can get a successful starting pitching outing.

"Win, lose or draw the Yankees are the best in the world." - says random guy with NY yankees hat at a bus stop on TV.

I haven't watched baseball enough but doesn't good defence usually prevail against good offence in the playoffs?
No. Good pitching > good offense > good defense. Look at what's going on in the Dodgers series. The straight starts they've completely wiped out the best team in baseball's offense.

Okay. My brother's wife says Mariners have better pitchers and I read we made trade deadline acquisitions to shore up the bullpen to close out games, but it hasn't panned out.

I see Jays winning when either the total score is above 10 or they themselves are in the double digits.

The papers here also said no matter the result both NL opponents are "formidable".

We're winning close games and coming from behind.....

But now we have the Dodgers.

I think the last time I saw a game live Teoscar Hernández was on the Jays.

Everyone in this city think we're winning it tonight. At least the riot cops seem to think so.
