Music Of The Moment

Gladys Knight version always seemed to get overlooked. It’s arguably the best of any of them

I do have a mono Marvin Gaye greatest hits LP recorded before he released ‘Grapevine’ as a single.

The Specials track put me in mind of this. Bought in the record department of WH Smith. There was a lot of reggae in the area NW10 was the epicentre in the UK.

Cheap pre decimalisation compilation LPs.

Tighten Up volume2 - 12/6d. Nobody ever seemed to have bought volume 1.

Kingstonians - Sufferer

The soul equivalent. 12/6d well spent.

Records were expensive then but live music was cheap.

Ends with Wilson Pickett in full flight.

Andy Babiuk, Clem Burke, Eliot Easton, Ian McLagan (before he died), guitarist from the Romantics (forgot his name).
