In the shoulders and chest? I wouldn't let an alterationist touch that with a 10-ft pole. Maybe your master Euro Dutch tailors, sure. But these schmucks here in America? No way.

There should be a little bit of spare in there, but you should be talking about small amounts to account for a surfeit of pies - I wouldn't try to make an off the peg suit a size bigger, even if there was enough material.

Rambo is right as well - it's very skilled, to know what to do, how to do it, and also whether it's worth doing in the first place. You need a serious tailor, not the local woman who hems your trousers.
