I always thought that the interlinings (cotton, wool, cashmere) in a tie make it keep it's shape. I'm worried that unlined ties will just wrinkle like Lino's face..

A few months ago, I ordered a bespoke tie from an insane bigoted Nazi Spaniard. At that time, there weren't much choice in material -- they were all pretty boring, and the few mildly interesting ones were all out of stock. I picked one that was described to me as a metallic brown.

This bigoted Nazi Spaniard from years of knowing him online has an extremely high touch. That is, no transaction with him is smooth and businesslike. Instead, you get enveloped in his attention and will hear from him very often. So, the last few months, I get emails from him nearly daily.

The tie arrived today.

It is not so much a brown as a red. I'd call it maroon. But it's relatively close to brown, and I can imagine it is brown to some people.

The silk feels very high quality, and even on its own has a great deal of body. No obvious weaving faults in the visible areas of the tie.

The seller bragged elsewhere that proper ties should have a large number of stitches per centimetre in the rolled edges. There is but one stitch per cm on mine. The general impression of the rolled edges is much like Gianni's product. Perfection was not the aim of the seamstress -- and not a requirement from me either. The handwork has a rustic charm.

There are several interlining options; I went for a single ply of wool interlining. Glad I did -- the tie feels just right with it.

It's a perfectly decent product that I can imagine wearing with pleasure for many years to come.

The embroidery is the bit that I do not like. The blue polka dotted fabric will go well with a camel colored jacket, methinks.

I honestly think the embroidery is the highlight of the product, but that may be due to it forming my initials.

I don't think so, it's already pretty good. Was told the embroiderer had also once embroidered for Rubinacci, but that probably applies to half the population of embroiderers in Naples.

He has a few Tussahs of interest.

I like the navy, the burgundy next to it, and the brown with navy dots. Actually, I can imagine a jacket in that brown with navy dots. If you own the company you work in and are attending a supplier's award night.
