The USA was not gonna win the World Cup. For all the talk I heard about this being the most "talented" team in a while, that really means nada at this level.

I just hope there is no White House "participation trophy" celebration.

They didn't win. Let them come home and practice/get better!
 
I think the Americans have no idea how to get around the 5 Dutch at the back when Netherlands retreats to defend. Trying to dribble through them in the centre is madness even for prime 20 something Messi.

No shame going out in knockout. Four time winner Germany and 2nd Fifa ranked Belgium already went home.

You have good players. Just need the right tactics and will power at the right time.

But DON'T celebrate it! I bet Germany/Belgium isn't having a parade. They are probably pissed. I bet the USA will celebrate this!

I'm not sure Croatia intended to do this but having an older squad and going deep into extra time against a Japanese team built to counter probably isn't the smartest strategy.
