The problem with Britain isn't that its people are stupid (which is a stupid remark itself) we have four of the world best universities in the world and some of its best schools, its that the country's economy is somewhat distorted. The monetary rewards available in the City draw the best and brightest and starve other industries of the talent. Now this does create an argument for immigration to fill these gaps, which has never been denied. The Brexit argument is for controls on immigration not cessation.

Kerr, perfectly illustrates the crass stupidity and ignorance of the 'elites', and the prime reason why the 'masses' are revolting against them.

Lets see how he gets himself out of the hole...

Ex EU ambassador, pro-remainer, member of the House of Lords, has worked or works for several multinational corporations (oil, mining, energy) and was at a Bilderberg Group meeting.

any people freaking out over Trump's election should really watch this. even if you don't agree with many of the points, like the "clean coal" silliness, its certainly not insane in any way. in the positive, he's killing TPP and reducing lobbying.

There is nothing sinister about it; it is just bad policy. At best, it will result in mediocre economic growth with windfall profits directed to specific industries. In the long term, it will worsen public health, lower life expectancy, increase healthcare costs and trigger an environmental catastrophe. Perhaps the endgame is to have a legitimate reason to cancel all entitlements - social security, medicare, etc. - in a couple of election cycles, as they will become impossible to sustain for the government. In which case, it just sounds peachy!

What's this I hear about Republican electors getting death threats from disappointed Hillary supporters? I thought the Trump supporters were all supposed to be brutal, hateful fascist cretins, whereas Hillary's backers stood for decency, civility, respect for American traditions, including "loyal opposition," etc.
 
Apparently, there is possible election voting machine fraud according to the Hillary camp. This should end up well.

Like I said, GOP needs to drop the religion rhetoric if it wants to be more inclusive.

It would suit Tilson just fine if voters who backed Trump because he promised to rein in Wall Street are furious now that he’s surrounding himself with bankers and billionaires.

“I can take glee in that -- I think Donald Trump conned them,” said Tilson, who runs Kase Capital Management. “I worried that he was going to do crazy things that would blow the system up. So the fact that he’s appointing people from within the system is a good thing.”
