The SF/AAAC/FNB trainwreck thread

Caustic Man's thread on menswear blogging is bizarre. Some interesting posts, some interminable arguments.

Andy and CM begin their never-ending 'define every term you use' argument on page two, sparked by a tiny comment about trouser cuffs.

Holy fucking shit. What is the TL;DR of this?

Perhaps he matured and realised that he didn't need to seek the approval of others by posting pictures of himself on the internet?

I warned about this, that is why there are any pic of me on any of those threads.

I got my mirror who says: you are lumpen instead.

https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/lumpen:

  • adjective
    • 1(in Marxist contexts) uninterested in revolutionary advancement.

‘the lumpen public is enveloped in a culture of dependency’
    1. 1.1 Boorish and stupid.
‘the growing ranks of lumpen, uninhibited, denim-clad youth’

  • 2 British Lumpy and misshapen; ugly and ponderous.

‘her own body was lumpen and awkward’

Yet another company selling Bauhaus-inspired watches with a whole lot of blather about how they slaved for ages to create the perfect, minimalist design...

Don't forget the story about how they came up with the idea just sitting around one day, it's their passion, blah blah blah.

Let me get this straight: you sold bags, you got caught telling lies about the details, you disappeared, now you're back and want money to be able to buy some watches to mark up and sell?

Amazingly, it was only a short time later that he was lecturing Alexander Kabbaz on how he should be running his bespoke shirt business, and objecting strongly when Kabbaz called him a "university student", replying that he wasn't a university student because he was studying at a law school.

There is no one more delusionally self-confident than a 2L

Man. Heady days of lolz in the fora.

Actually for me the best mafoofan thread (apart from the green wallet one) was the fa-fucked shoulder on the nsm jacket. he was fighting like a cat belly up as we say in Spanish.

I always enjoyed taking the proverbial out of him, until I saw how his fellow students of Law treated him and his girlfriend on their university's social media forum pages.

The one where he was furnishing the living room was epic too.

If it was worse than on the menswear fora, then you are gonna have to send me some links so I can cackle madly.

Nah, he married a rich girl.

You're a rich Foo, and you've gone too far
'Cause you know it don't matter anyway
You can rely on the old lady's money
You can rely on the old lady's money
You're a bitch Foo but it's gone too far
'Cause you know it don't matter anyway
Say money but it won't get you too far,
Get you too far
And don't you know, don't you know
That it's wrong to take what is given you
So far gone, on your own
You can get along if you try to be strong
But you'll never be strong

I fondly look back on the "exclusive" shirt material (for an OCBD I think -that deliberately at its best as most mundane and RTW of shirts) - that he argued - with all and sundry forum ignoramuses - didn't have any synthetic in it - until he actually - like y'know tested it by burning - and yup - you guessed it - it was a tacky fake with synthetic.

Yes, it was a chambray cloth, perhaps a French-made chambray. People on SF, including the Foo, had been talking about how great it was - until they discovered that it was an impure blend.
