Jumper seems to be getting the most love. A shell chukka could be interesting. I think a monk would be too decisive...
 
Maybe a poll to decide on the basic design, then see who's in? They can then decide on the finer details and practicalities.

Well the crodovan boots from Meermin, they can make those like the Carmina's (I guess, in terms of design) for a fraction of the price, 400 euros, that's like $7,000 pesos plus shipping. That's nice.
 
Update - Alden sells to 'dealers only'. So we'd need someone to handle the deal for us on that front.

I have an email out to Allen Edmonds VP of Sales and I sent Kent Wang a message as well.
 
Heard back from Kent. He says its possible, depending obviously on what we want. I told him we'd keep him in the loop.

That's what it seems like. Mike is the most active at heading up orders and has multiple experiences and a long relationship w/ Carmina.

Now comes convincing the wife; that's always the most difficult part.
 
Not saying anyone in the community can't jump on, man. He's pushing something through, and in self-interest, I am interested.

Well, at least half a dozen people expressed interest here, which would be enough for an order from carmina. And working out the details between us is supposed to be what's fun about this kind of thing isn't it?

I have and have already expressed my willingness to figure it out. Not to mention that I've already been communicating on the phone and via email with a few people.
 
Chukka could be cool, I think. And fairly versatile.

The higher boot seems to be an opinion splitter. Let's all hammer out something we can all agree on here.
 
First of all, there's no rush. We probably don't even have enough members at this point, with or without Bubba and Argentina.

Second, if it were me, I'd want something that I couldn't get anywhere else. A unique combination. Just making a regular old shoe that's always made but in a different color doesn't strike me as particularly unique.

Lastly, I'm happy to do all the leg work, but don't think you have to come to me to approve your ideas. If you have an idea and want to flesh it out on your own, run with it. Then post it up here for everyone to shit on talk about.
 
Well it is Wednesday now so all is OK.

Nothing ever came of this? On one hand I like the idea but on the other the commissioning of a DW collective boot seems so antithetical now, no?
 
I'd love a shell cordovan GMTO (general MTO) boot, but apparently Carmina isn't accepting GMTOs for shell cordovan at present.
 
^ I suggest that one of our members infiltrates a museum so as to get hold of a stuffed dodo so that we may use its hide to make a pair of shoes. Far more rare and valuable than the near-ubiquitous (amongst iGents, at least) Russian reindeer hide.
