WDYBT: What Did You Buy Today

They're sheepskin leather. Which brand of shoes started off as torture for you then turned comfortable a week later?

Not torture, just slightly uncomfortable. Pretty much all brands I've tried, from $300-1000. The only shoes that were comfortable from the get go turned out be half a size too big once they'd been properly broken in.

I like plaid on farm people, not baristas. Pics plz

Plaid starting to arrive. Very autumnal pair.

Been adding to my Turnbull & Asser shirt collection with their ongoing winter sales. Two shirts for €190 which is a mighty fine price for what you are getting.

The famous T&A collar is a mighty thing. It is wider and made of sterner stuff than floppy spreza collars. And once seen and worn, it is never forgotten. The shirt collar of champions. That's why Sammy Davis Jnr and Robert Evans looked so good in the 1970s. They were dressed in T&A shirts.

True the collar can be intimidating, it has presence and looks best either with a chunky own brand tie, or sans tie with a blazer or jacket. They don't work with a v-neck jumper with no tie.

Cuffs are modest compared with other Jermyn Street makers, but I prefer the 3 botton cuff. Always a winner.

?? What the f*** is it about T& A - collars etc.

I see shirts as underwear - for most all you need is the collar and cuffs to look good - 190GBP for 2 on sale!! = 85 = $140aud for a shirt - too expensive.

Made in bangladesh, they add the made in britain tag late at night as sator used to say

That's a nonsense! The shirts and ties are made in their Gloucestershire factory from Thomas Mason/Albini Group fabrics which are from Italian mills. If there's any skulduggery in the supply chain, it will be on the Italian side from their sub-vendor. And I doubt that.

Lorazepam, 3mg, under your tongue. Chill

I generally do not like side zips but those are substantial enough that I do like'em

After wearing my pair of mid brown Belstaff Atwell side-zips and realizing how they are the most convenient shoe (moreso than even Chelseas), I am hooked on them. You get all the badassery of boots with near loafer-like convenience.

I really don't see how this is product placement if the store I bought from wasn't even mentioned.

you are calling Darkside Darkside a shill for Norman Wanks Alone?

you remember this? deceide yourself.

No banners, no ads, no limp-wristed Pitti fruitcakes or tacky clothing shills. Just honest clothing talk from men who can dress themselves (and some strange Europeans).

just sayin ...

ps: google search buttero ontano side zip - top ranking, guess what? wanker delight.

So he did not buy the boots? He bought the boots but got a discount for shilling? He got them free for shilling? He got a blow job from Greg & Schlomo for shilling?

I just took it as a relatively normal, regular DW member bought a pair of boots at NMWA because they were probably on sale. Don't worry, I'll ask him.

HEY Darkside Darkside ARE YOU SHILLING FOR NMWA IN EXCHANGE FOR BLOWJOBS & BOOTS?

no need to exaggerate. but, yes this purchase doesn't fit into the grand scheme here, imo.

btw, same drama as you defended his denim purchase. I don't see your point, anyway.

ps: double agents are always suspicious. ymmv.

I promise you NMWA doesn't fuel their business from bottom-feeders like me. I simply bought a pair of quality boots from a reliable vendor because they are at a price I can relatively afford and in line with the direction my style is going in. I shared it here because there is a thread that is designed to do things like that.

What is "the grand scheme" of things here? We have people buying handmade purple wingtips in Australia to Chinese dudes rocking 600$ spaceboot Converses in Kansas. Also, the denim that I wear is by Rag & Bone. I guess I am shilling for them now too?

I truly don't understand your angst or where you are trying to go with this. I realize you are a veteran member, but I simply don't see the point in choosing "sides."
