Can you slide the shoe horn all the way down so it hits the insole? Can you wiggle it back and forth between your heel and the back of the shoe?

Huh… I thought I read their were new. I'm seriously considering investing in some shell shoes. I hate that I can't try them on but those really look good.

jrd just for curiosity, normal calf skin how mucho does it take to mold to your feet?
 
The material of the upper conforming to the foot isn't quite the same as the footbed, Betel.

I've had great success with buying "used" shell shoes that I've been able to restore to looking very good. I may just have a very generic footshape though because all my buys have been relatively comfortable right off the bat (not like wearing a new pair, but not uncomfortable in any way either)
 
I have a flat foot or whatever that is called, so sometimes some shoes are very uncomfortable to me, especially hard ones. The other day I tried some Church's Tassels, my feet were killed on those.
 
One of my Barba shirts is with the tailor, the armhole started to "unstitch" :(
